Hardware Will I get problems replacing my Wii drive?

Well, I'm from the UK(hence the UK PAL Wii ) but I'm planning to do something along those lines, with the aid of a friend in a shop somewhere, wanted to make sure the drives are all swappable before I got the ball rolling though. As for not playing DVD-Rs, that's cool enough, I don't use...

Hardware Will I get problems replacing my Wii drive?

I posted a thread a while back that got no responses, but I'm cutting it down and posting something slightly different here. I also posted my original in the wrong place. Essentially, I have a launch date Wii(UK PAL) but I think my drive's got problems and might damage my discs over time. If I...

Gaming If my Wii has a dodgy drive...(a few questions of my wii, fixing, and

Having a browse through the hardware section, I realise this would probably be more suited to there, sorry for sticking it here! Can a mod move it along on its way to wherever is most appropriate?

Gaming If my Wii has a dodgy drive...(a few questions of my wii, fixing, and

(And brawl, that is.) Ok, quick background, on the weekend my smash brothers were back in town so we were gonna have a brawl sesh at mine, but my brawl disc started acting up saying it couldn't be read. My brawl disc has been radially scratched before, but I took it to a shop and got it fixed...

Hacking Extended explanation of what keys.bin is?

Ahhh, so it's encryption related(something I know rather little about). Interesting, I'm guessing this is how they identify specific Wiis, and more importantly, copy protect their VC stuff?

Hacking Extended explanation of what keys.bin is?

Private keys? But what are these keys and what do they do? Key for some sort of encryption? I'm curious about its nature, where it comes from, if it's wii specific, and that. Surely there must be info on it? Everywhere I look, it's just mentioned as being deftly important but nobody seems to...

Hacking Extended explanation of what keys.bin is?

Ok, so I kinda fudged my Wii up a bit I think(but that isn't what this is about), which prompted me to restore to an old NAND backup I made in BootMii, now that I've finally got my HBC and stuff back, and I'm on 4.2 with a new internet channel, I decided to do another NAND backup, only this time...

Hacking Transferring a save from flash cart to DS cart?

Ahh, but my cart is a slot-2 cart, I'm not 100% I can borrow the slot-1 carts yet. I'll have a read over a mosy through things though, cheers for the links. My main aim is to be able to move a save from the M3 SD Perfect onto a corresponding cart, really, everything else is just a nice extra.

Hacking Transferring a save from flash cart to DS cart?

Well, I guess the title says it all, I had a look around but couldn't find too much concrete to help me so I thought I'd ask you guys cos you seem to know your stuff. Basically, I'm wondering if there'd be a way for me to transfer a save that I get from a ROM on my flash cart(which is a slot-2...

Hardware MP3 on M3 for GBA?

Ahh, Thanks for the reply. I was afraid it might be a hardware issue, but held out hope having considered the play-yan's release. I'd be well up for any help with the first two options, as it seems I don't have much other option lol. I guess a conversion of a ton of stuff could be done as a one...

Hardware MP3 on M3 for GBA?

Hi! First off, hope I put this in the right place, as I'm pretty useless at getting stuff in the right forum, wasn't sure if it should be here or in GBA Dev. Anyway, a pretty basic question which I've not been able to find anything much on, but is it possible in any way at all, to play MP3s on a...

    Hacking M3 Lite Cheat Support

All right! I tried it all over again and got it to work this time, I think I might have dipped the wrong file or something, but it's working now! I used that guide on dualscene that Fondue linked to, and had another look over Destructobot's and it does make sense, I can't figure out what I did...

    Hacking M3 Lite Cheat Support

EDIT: I seem to have mixed up two threads, I'll check out the two guides Fondue has posted here when I can get back on here but I have to go right now ahhhhhhh It's me again, I had a look at Destructobot's guide and got to the part where you load dipstar onto your M3(though his guide is for a...

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
