Hacking DIOS MIOS! GC ISO Loader proof of concept (Starfox Assault)

I am willing to be educated so please comment if I have anything wrong as this was told to me by someone who likes gamecube games. There is no way to buy a new gamecube game, so you have to buy second hand. Most people who have good gamecube games hang on to them so good condition games worth...

    Hardware Drive Connections

A group of colleges out drinking discussing "stupid" but very useful console mods and having a good laugh at ourselves. In the cold light of day one idea is very worth doing and we have the skills between us to pull it off. 10 days of lunchtime googling and 3 seasons of advance search later by 3...

Hacking Configurator for Configurable USB Loader

Hacking Configurator for Configurable USB Loader

Starting from a WBFS disk with a random set of games plus a newly softmoded Wii to replace the one that was stolen, Is there a button or option to allow you to create a set of files with default options to start from ? I have fired up the trusty disk editor and produced a list of titles & game...

    Hacking Wii Menu 4.2 Released

Stating the obvious (after 54 pages of reading). Some game exploits still work and it’s possible to run homebrew on 4.2. The hackmii installers don’t work as they can’t find a vulnerable IOS. Wad Manager and TBR still run. So the two problems dealing with a virgin 4.2 are :- 1) Stop the System...

Hacking NOOB PARADISE - ask away

This post is in this section because I feel like one but after a week of searching the site I am no closer to my answers, so here are my questions. 1) Is there any way to force the Wii to format a Gamecube memory card ? (posts say "use the official Nintendo formater" but the format menu in the...

    DSi Common Key Bruteforcer

I would rather make a complete fool of myself than miss something important. Brute force would take a long time even on a PS3 farm of 1024 units so I had a look at key.bin and kkey.bin. The hex range looked familiar to I viewed them as Simplified Chinese. They seemed to make sense. Is there a...

I have not had a chance to try uloader 2.5 because the kids won't let me near the Wii since it got a drive. The Spanish forum said something about incompatible cIOS. The cIOS installer meta.xml says Vn 1.6 as it has done since uloader 1.7 thus I have not re-installed since uloader 1.7. Do I...

How to install cIOS 222 etc. with no internet connection for the Wii As with any forum, the Moderator’s word is final. New ROM Anti-Piracy Software

Sounds like history is repeating itself when they thought they had an unbeatable system on the Atari ST(e). The ROMs themselves can not change contents thus code must copy itself to ram before it can modify itself. This gives 2 options for a “one size fits all” solution (but it is the same...

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
