Wii #2305 - James Bond 007: Goldeneye (USA)

Well, Goldeneye came out before Perfect Dark back in the day so of course if you played PD before GE you'd probably like it more. That being said I played PD and couldn't get into it because to me it was just Goldeneye with different graphics and no cool Bond shit. It's all about what era you're...

Wii #2305 - James Bond 007: Goldeneye (USA)

Pictured on the back of the collector's edition box was the icon for the wiimote + nunchuk, the icon for the classic controller, the icon for the gc controller, and the wii zapper

Wii #2305 - James Bond 007: Goldeneye (USA)

I think he said he played the 360 bond and the ps3 one, I don't have either system so I don't know if there were bonds for it but I have to say- If you think this is going to suck like Other M (Which I didn't even bother playing after being a lifetime Metroid fan) you'll probably be really...

Wii #2305 - James Bond 007: Goldeneye (USA)

Okay, now that I'm bored at work I might as well write a little bit more about my impressions of the game. To respond to previous questions, I don't know if it's multi-language, I don't know if it's safe to go online if you didn't buy it. (I never tried multiplayer this morning but they did...

Wii #2305 - James Bond 007: Goldeneye (USA)

I was at my local store at 12:01am to buy it, nabbed the collector's edition. Glad I did, not a huge fan of mouselook with a wiimote so the classic controller was definitely a good pick up. On my 3.2U Wii I had to copy it down to the harddisk to get it to run, but other than that I played...

Hacking Bliight! It's Gentoo Linux creepin' on yer Wiiz

basically before I shipped the distro I did some screwy changes to the xorg.conf file to add in support for a second wiimote and failed. You either have to get the fixed xorg.conf from my webserver (which is down) if you can edit the xorg.conf in your desktop system- just remove the stuff about...

    Homebrew PSX

Wat you're forgetting here is that the entire wii disc is encrypted, the reason you can "trim" wii discs is because when you encrypt a bunch of zeroes you obviously end up with a bunch of other crap instead of the zeroes, making it impossible to compress (it's just random data, no patterns)...

Hacking Wii Has NO Red LED

Funny enough, I unplug my Wii every thunderstorm just because it's simple to do and I don't have to worry about things like this.

Hacking Instant Messneger Channel on Wii

Your best bet is to somehow base it around a very minimalistic version of wii linux or simply use wii linux. Cause you're gonna have to write the protocol interfaces (unless you port libpurple to wii) and the window manager, and all the ui related stuff. It's a great idea, don't get me wrong...

    Hacking Tehskeen´s death

Who really gives a fuck what's on topic or not? The main downfall of these so called community sites are the insipid elitists who use their post counts, join dates, and "karma" readouts as validity of their worth to the community. Unlike /b/, where the only thing that will get you noticed in...

Hacking Is there still a hack for unlimited Wii points?

There are people who were/have worked on ideas similar to this, and it is somewhat possible, the Shop Channel downloads files from ninty that we already have the keys to decrypt, assumably, lets just say I won't say any more because I doubt anyone working on such a thing would want to talk about...

Hacking USB Loader Hard Drives - Call to coders

From what I can recall the device tree gets reset everytime the IOS reloads, that's some of the problems with usb devices in wii linux. Remember, you don't have like, hardware access to the usb device, just a channel you can send messages through from what I recall, someone, somewhere, wrote at...

    Hacking New Wii Exploit Found

Those that have been paying attention know that comex is known to be one of the only non-twiizers to have an IOS exploit. I remember the day in #wiidev when he mentioned he found it, and marcan himself on hackmii has mentioned that if people want an IOS exploit, they should find it like comex...

    Hacking Whiite-Linux Installer!

I actually released it with a bad xorg.conf that worked for me but noone else, there is a replacement available, I just never re-released it with the fixed one, you can find the working xorg.conf here; http://theendoftime.no-ip.org/xorg.conf

    Hacking Bootit

Actually, I think Bliight and xwhiite both have onscreen keyboards, do you honestly think we're that lazy? Bliight even has two seperate ones I believe. by the way, many thanks to nuvalo for all the hard work he's done for the wii linux community, without him we'd probably not be half as far as...

    Hacking Bleach Versus Crusade

I actually bought my copy and had to run it this way, but when I patched 002 I didn't have to do anything else to make it work. Also, if you're using the patcher and it's not working, do it by hand, it's so very easy, just get a free hex editor and search out 2C 00 00 00 40 82 02 14 3C 60 80 00...

    Hacking Whiite-Linux Installer!

As far as Virtualbox, I don't think it runs on ppc processors, and wine can't be run because it uses x86 assembler I think, also, by the time you have X running you simply will not have enough memory to entertaining any other kind of system. to put this in perspective, I believe bertjan was...

Hacking Bliight! It's Gentoo Linux creepin' on yer Wiiz

Well, I can't say I've ever tried to start an emerge with X running (it uses gobs and gobs of memory) ((just issue /etc/init.d/xdm stop and then ctl-alt-backspc and then ctl-alt-f1)) Also, for sanity's sake, make sure make.conf isn't anywhere but in /etc, to me it sounds like it's doing a file...

Hacking Bliight! It's Gentoo Linux creepin' on yer Wiiz

You don't need to copy make.conf to /usr/portage, just leave make.conf where it is in /etc and then untar your portage snapshot to /usr/portage and then run emerge --sync (if you wanna be fully upto date) in fact just running emerge --sync with no portage tree in /usr/portage should also work...

Hacking Bliight! It's Gentoo Linux creepin' on yer Wiiz

It _does_ support usb, I was using a LACIE Silverscreen external 80gb usb harddrive on it and two kingston 2gb pendrives and one 1gb kingston pendrive. I haven't run into any usb devices yet that didn't work on it actually. You just kinda have to mount them yourself, they will be /dev/sda1...
