    Yep that's a sign you're in the wrong job. Life's too short to be in a job you hate. I know you can't always get your dream job but please try. I've been in the same situation before and it seriously affected my mental health - I am so much happier now I'm in a job I genuinely love.

    After yesterday's Odin catastrophe, I've now set up immich on my nas to make myself feel better

    I use Plex/PlexAmp right now, which is... "fine". I still haven't got my Jellyfin server set up yet but I don't expect I'll be using it for music. Navidrome has been on my list to check out, but I also saw this a few days ago which sounds interesting. https://github.com/Arthi-chaud/Meelo

    @Sicklyboy That does look interesting. I do have a Plexpass which I bought years ago but would rather use open source software where I can. Early signs of Navidrome is positive, it is more efficient in loading up the library and pulling metadata and plays nicel;y with Symfonium on my phone whereas Jellyfin was a bit of a mess. Will continue with Jellyfin for TV and anime but certainly not for music.

    Yeah long term I plan to ditch Plex entirely in favor of Jellyfin (though not for music). I too prefer OSS, and I'm really not a fan of the direction Plex as a company is headed. I've just deprioritized it so heavily in lieu of other projects around the homelab that need attention lol

    I made the full switch a year or two ago myself. I had a 2080 Super at the time, and not gonna lie, I was still more than happy to do the nvidia-related troubleshooting if it meant I didn't have to use Windows anymore, even with a stable system. I switched to AMD last year though and it's rock solid now

    That's proved very handy as it's helped me find a higher image source for my avatar so have changed it. Old one was genuinely from 2011/12. I did have to spend a few minutes working out how to change my avatar :lol:. The joys of having the same avatar for over 15 years.

    Been on Graphene for years across two pixels, and it's perfect. Idk about your work's 2fa app, but it definitely gets my recommendation.

    @Nakamichi yeah the phones themselves are kinda lame, shitty, overpriced, but it's worth the trade off imo. The good news is you can usually find them very cheap second-hand. I'm on a 9 Pro XL and while I don't play games on it, I have done a bit of dolphin emulation on it and had no performance issues.

    Also, graphene partnered with motorola, and are set to launch a new flagship phone with it at some point.

    a motorola WOULD appeal to me more, ideally with a snapdragon chip... but all coming phones for QUITE a while will be very expensive, its going to start this september and only get worse

    If "work authenticator" is a TOTP generator like Google Authenticator, if you can extract secrets somehow (or generate a new one), you can just use any TOTP application. The process is probably called along the lines of "add/replace authenticator".

    Otherwise, your mileage may vary. Having a mandatory work application, and working in the UK no less, it sounds like a bad time...
