I just observed some sketchy marketing practices from Nintendo.
Here's a few items I viewed a few weeks ago, as displayed on Nintendo Store (US):
...except I logged out and cleared cookies many times in the meantime:
I ruled out fingerprinting as I remembered that I logged in to My Nintendo earlier today for free Platinum Coins, but the problem is that I logged out and haven't viewed those items today. (I re-tested and these items don't appear in a fresh private session.)
Like, seriously? They're incorporating marketing tactics used by broke and desperate companies. Is it really so important to try and squeeze every last cent that you have to track users even after logging out?
