    Thinking for -5 seconds:
Oh I totally get what you mean. You're not broken.

    Let's break this out:
Humans have a very specific way to communicate, while machines fails at a lot of common human traits when communicating.

Do you want me to draw a cognitive map so you can visualize my idea more clearly?

Investing in a dedicated storage node would probably be cheaper in the end ;p

That's slowly what Ziggy is turning into, haha, I'm gonna continue down this route for now ... I need to do a few upgrades tho ... He needs a new case and I'm not 100% trusting of the PSU in there, but tests come back clean

But SAS controllers cost next to nothing, and shucked drives are amazingly cost-effective these days
    So in 11(ish) hours i downloaded 521 Gb ... well in 24 hours .... over 2Tb :/

In USA you can pay away the caps or get the highest tier gigabit and its unlimited. Sad state of affairs but at least its avoidable somehow

It's up to 2.5 now had to kill the downloads most of the day as Mrs Uiaad was working from home @Chary don't get me started on how the USA deals with tech stuff One example would be cell numbers. Why create a distinct mobile number block when you can use standard geographic numbers and charge people for even receiving SMS? Something that literally costs them nothing, as it's all in the underrun

3 god damned hours later and a new hard drive is installed in Ziggy all thanks to a 3mm wide piece of kapton tape and a fuzzy memory of the sata power standard
Another day and 14tb of storage going in to Ziggy. At this point im just thinking about switching him over to SAS rather than SATA
Windows, why do you feel like you need to lie to me about when install was installed. It's trying to tell me it was like 3 weeks ago ... but my backup records show its more like 3 years ago :/

Reminds me of how Windows 8 would lie about your PC being up to date when you manually check for updates. Like, you just reinstalled your entire OS sand now you want all the updates which you clearly remember existing. Nope it lies to you until it feels like actually checking for updates and installs them when you're not looking.

Windows 10 still does this, on my old iMac at least

Of course when I had a PC, I'd prefer to have backups of installers for all my programs, and updates are no exception. This was even before ISPs had bandwidth caps. Now, 1 TB a month? Reinstalling your PS3 library alone burns that.

Apologies, the previous post was uploaded by mistake - we all know Nintendo has done nothing right in years - Porygon was set up! It was that arsehole Pikachu that caused the problems
