uh, Because it's apart of the "Programing Life" ?

People seem to forget. Computers are dumb machines, and it all depends on what the programmer attempts to make it do things for you. Otherwise it's spits out Garbage. My Lotus teacher said GIGO.
Which says "Garbage In, Garbage Out. :)

It's not just computers being dumb. For safety reasons they make it so in-line SSH commands don't go through your .profile and .bashrc files. I had no idea this was the case, and for some reason trying to use those files in my inline SSH didn't work. In the end I had to include setting environment variables in the SSH which was awful.

I also had no idea the tool I was using did SSH in-line, so I was trying to figure out why programs couldn't be detected by just normally logging in and using commands one by one. Completely the wrong idea.
I love how macos decides to just not read my exfat drives. They work fine on linux, they're probably fine on windows, but macos has to be special and not mount them.

Then I have to run fsck_exfat, then repair in disk utility. It always works but it's just stupid that other OSes will read things without any issue.

    I love how macos...
Geez.. for a moment it seemed to me that you liked machos. 💪😘
There is too much pessimism (or just edginess?) on this platform. I wish happiness on everyone here.
I know this is a somewhat awkward question but, how did you find out you are trans?

Feelings are hard to put into words! This may be unintelligible nonsense. Good luck understanding!

Wow that took half an hour to write? I need to stop loitering in the grocery store lol
I had a car cigarette --> DSi adapter and made it USB --> DSi instead. The wires weren't colored and I didn't feel like finding my multimeter, so it was a 50/50 chance of being backwards and killing my fuse. I got lucky!

Anyways super convenient to finally have USB for my factory DSis. I used to have to bring my charger and search endlessly for open outlets. There are surprisingly few around. Handy that I can just use my power bank now.

Internet Archive's loss of a court case and needing donations makes me realize how important it is. IA is the backup for the internet. What happens if it goes? I can't rely on a single backup with my hard drives, and I don't think I should rely on a single backup by a service like that. Maybe IA will fine but I'll still have to back up things of note and mirror them to my S3 bucket.

Like as someone mentioned, IA had everything backed up when Forest of Illusion went down. But now that's the only public backup. What happens if that goes?
I had a nightmare that I traded my xp to be a patron, but then instantly regretted it because I'd never be able to reclaim the xp. Not my first gbatemp dream, maybe I should touch grass again.
What exactly does "rvtr" mean? Reverter?
    Also, nice profile.

RVTR can be defined in three different ways; either it's the writer, the reader, or the discs themselves. RVT-R are special recordable discs used by developers for burning prototypes of their games, specificially for the RVT-R reader Wii dev kit.

My first devkit was the RVT-R so it's special to me... I also couldn't think of username when discord changed things so I "temporarily" picked rvtr.

    My condolences as well -

"Do I even own my own photos anymore?"
You do, but you've also given permission for this service to use them in any way they wish as if they owned them too. You still have and own the originals, if you can find them.

Most of the time you can get out of agreements like this by deleting your account, but unless you're in a region with a law like GDPR/DPA/CCPA then they likely won't have any obligation to allow you to.

@Veho the problem here is that the terms are never presented on the tributeslides website, and there are no links or mentions to the larger company. There is no way to see without an unnecessary amount of digging. I generally don't get upset at terms, but when they are never presented then it's somewhat annoying.

I'm going to have a nice little "do not disturb" sign on my profile pic for the next month or so. If you need to contact me I will be around, however don't expect a timely response.

I get it, I was gone from all instant communication recently for almost two weeks also, since it was too tiring, stressful and time-consuming. I really appreciate physical mail, e-mail, and forums much more as a method of communication.

@IC_ I need it just because of some family matters that are a complete mess. If you're gonna die, DO NOT leave your wife with dementia with no supports, have nothing organized, nothing arranged, sell your property to a very shady new millionaire neighbor for pennies (lifetime use is a silver lining I guess?), and most of all do not try hiding everything. Things shouldn't have to be this hard :D
