    i'm confident i could clear one on flat ground. i don't know about going up a bank though, as i haven't figured out how to ollie/launch off those yet

    It is a bit of an odd one.
    Two main approaches to learn it beyond simply being able to roll off it.
    1) Early grab (or maybe boneless but I would not). Will take far longer to get but will make sense of it.
    2) Learn what is sometimes called a vert ollie. Basically don't smack the tail to the ground like a normal ollie but still give it a bit of a push down.

    It is all also 10x easier to learn out of a bank onto flat deck the same height rather than also having to deal with a drop the other side.
    For the ollie then you can also learn it off a ledge if you want.
    If you can find a long narrow ramp then that might be good (pump as you are going in) but that might be easier said than done.

    it's like ever since i started boarding again i keep finding new wounds and stuff. yesterday i found a massive bruise!

    Whatever type of "boarding" it is, remember to take care of yourself; don't do crazy tricks or stunts without due caution.

    skateboarding, the bruise doesn't hurt and it's not visible. it'll heal no problem. what i'm worried about are these blisters, i think i need to just stop skateboarding for a week and let them heal even though that's gonna suck

    anyone got tips for preventing blisters on the tips of my toes? i seem to get them from skateboarding :(

    i def need new shoes yeah, my shoes are flat but they aren't designed for skateboarding i don't think. only problem with this is that they're expensive, i'll find some though it wont be an issue. for now my duct-taped shoes work just fine

    Shoes too small, socks too thick (though thick socks is something I like at times) and possibly nails too long but that is less blisters and more bruising.
    Beyond that you might just have to toughen up -- if you are as new or returning as you say and walk as little as the average North American then calluses have to form first.

    yeah i'm gonna bring some next time for sure, i don't know why i forgot. my mom told me that she always has that one time that she gets bad sunburns and it only reminds her why it's important to bring sunscreen or sunblock as you call it's important.

    the goodwills by me have some for like $10, I suggest you check a few out - super affordable to get a second monitor.
