Kinda baffling nobody ever answered your question, since it's kind of a nice thing to restore functionality that was disabled for no valid reasons by the manufacturer.

Okey, so this answer comes from experience, I did this months ago for my own console. Hopefully anyone that ever asks if this can be done successfully, finds this thread from Google.

Yes, you can delete the original Mii Channel in vWii with AnyTitleDeleter. And yes, go on and install Mii-Channel-NUS-v6 from the original Wii after that, preferably obtained by yourself (be careful with corrupted or malicious wads obtained on the internet). You can get the wad from the Nintendo servers (with NUS Dowloader, for example) and then install it, without issues.

After that, you will be able to transfer your Miis again, to the Wiimote and back to the console, or even edit them on your PC if you want to, by extracting the Miis from a synced Wiimote. You're welcome!

false. Installing wii ios's on a vwii will brick.

Installing titles is fine. (as long as it's not the system menu)

So in this case, replacing the mii channel with the wii version is fine.
False. Installing any IOS (including TED IOSes) or wads made for the original Wii on your vWii will brick it. That's the reason why always two versions of a forwarder exists. So stop spreading lies.

Just installed it, ran just fine. If you don't believe me, I can upload a video if you so like to see.

And also no, that's not for the same reason two versions of a forwarder exists. Two versions of a forwarder exist primarily because of wiiu shenanigans I'm not going to get into.

Also if it was original wii wads, don't you think that any application made for the original wii (aka all of them) would just idk, break? Aka every single wiiware/vc title under the sun.

Because I am petty (and on my last brain cell)
here's a sleep deprived idiot installing mii channel wii version on a wiiu to prove that no it doesn't brick. (and spoiler,it doesn't brick the system)
I made a incorrect statement, more like two. (more like one correction, one an addendum)
Cafe2wii doesn't sit inbetween the arm processor, it's just the means to transition to wiimode.

And system loader 512 does load first on powerpc reset (technically it doesn't sit in, more like loads first.) during normal vwii mode. But 513 is loaded for virtual console wii games... that sounds confusing. Wii games installed to the wiiu nand/external drive.

If I got anything wrong by people who know the wiiu better than I do (such as Garry, dimok, Maschell etc) as right now I'm on my last braincell, and I'd imagine I got something wrong.

please feel free to correct.

Anyways, here's the video showing that it's safe to install wii version, mii channel, it's processing, so give it a bit of time

Edit: another addendum, when I said "wish wiiu community would focus/fix"
I meant that I wish it was a more well known issue that community knew about. saying it the way I does a disservice for the work that has been done.

I copied my Wii Miis to the vWii Mii Channel just fine using Wii Save Manager same way I copied my save data, just NEVER attempt to replace the Mii channel on vWii with the one from Wii, you’ll definitely brick your WiiU.

It’s worth mentioning Miis which are stored on the Wii U Mii channel don’t carry over to the ones on the vWii Mii channel, I’ve always found this odd, why can’t it just auto generate them to the vWii Mii channel? They’re using the same system.

well, if it does brick, you should be able to fix the vwii with decaffinator. you will have to disable tiramisu or aroma, if you're using them, briefly, because it requires you update to restore the corrupted vwii.

Not just ios. Wads also.
do I have to live stream just to prove this?
DO I REALLY HAVE TO.
What more proof do you need for me to prove that this. you know, what. I'll grab my phone, record the ENTIRE PROCESS. and if you STILL think that I'm making shit up, then I don't know what else to say.

The website has it wrong(though rightfully so. You don't want some noob to go install every single wii wad under the sun on a vwii. Because invetibly they'll end up replacing parts/installing shit you shouldn't)

I believe you, that it works. even if it didn't, it would be easy to fix the vwii anyway.

so I went out to make a video anyways, since even though yes, some people would be kind enough to take my word. it seems that the general sentiment still exists. So to make it as clear as possible, I decided to make a video anyways. (if I sound annoyed, it's because I am)

you'll see the entire process. from nus downloading, to me ejecting the sd card out of the system, to running the wii version of mii maker, and then back into wiiu mode. If that's somehow not enough evidence, I don't know what is. I also have one last addendum to make. Don't also mess with the region selector wad either. Towards the end of the video I essentially rant stating that as long as you don't touch any core components (IOS,MIOS,BC, System menu, eula, region selector, boot2, and shopping channel) Your not going to brick. (I wrongly included BBC channel. though never ran it/tried it. )

Give it like 10 more minute after this post for the hd version to finish processing. Or you can watch in glorious 360p
