How to FTP from FileZilla to the PSP?

I'm unable to upload files to the PSP using FileZilla Client and ARK-4's FTP server.

EDIT: To make matters worse, these Memory Stick PRO Duo compatible microSD adapters are so fragile my second one is breaking too. Also, copying data to the PSP and vice-versa via PSP's USB cable is slower than if using the PSP's microSD card inserted in an USB 3.0 microSD adapter connected to the PC's USB 3.0 ports, and for some reason, when connecting the PSP to the PC's 2 USB 3.0 ports via USB cable, it keeps disconnecting as soon as I barely touch the PSP's USB cable, but not if I connect it to the remaining USB port, which is USB 2.0. I don't have this problem if I connect the PSP's USB cable to another PC's USB 3.0 (and USB 2.0) ports. One more reason to upload files to the PSP using FileZilla Client and ARK-4's FTP server.

It seems PSP's ARK-4 CFW has a FTP server.

The wifi in it probably sucks. The ds would get single digit kilobytes

I connected an ethernet cable to my new, used ps2. I'm sure it's going to be slow, but I think you can use ethernet to get greater speeds than usb 1.1, which is what the ps2 is.

I already use ethernet on my PC and on my PS2 (they're not directly connected since the PC is connected to the router and the PS2 to a gigabit switch, which in turn is connected to the router) and it's still very slow but I guess it's still faster than uploading files from the PC to the PSP using Wi-Fi.

I just tried it and it worked fine for me. It’s slow and less convenient than USB transfer, but it worked.

If you want help, you’ll need to be a little more specific on the problem you are having. Is your PSP able to connect to a wireless network and start the FTP server?

If you are able to start the server and then not connect, are you getting any errors from FileZilla? What connection settings are you using in FileZilla?

I can connect to the server but when uploading files, FileZilla Client's status stays in "Connected" forever and doesn't upload any.

Do you get a directory listing when you connect? Can you browse PSP file structure, but then not download?

Maybe try another file transfer program like WinSCP. It’s a little more user friendly and it doesn’t bundle adware/spyware in the installer.

Yes, it lists partitions and I can access them.

I don't think it is but I tried it and I have the same issue.

I tested again and I’m able to transfer files both ways including overwriting files. I get about 400-500 KiB/s on larger files according to the queue info. My FileZilla settings:

In the general tab:
Set the port to 21, set encryption to only use plain ftp (insecure), set the login type to anonymous.

In the transfer settings tab:
Check limit number of simultaneous connections and make sure maximum number of connections is set to 1.

The rest are defaults.

FileZilla does try to use multiple connections and maybe the server doesn’t handle that, so make sure you only allow 1. If that doesn’t work I think it’s something specific to your PC or network. You could also try PSP FTPD as another poster suggested.

It still doesn't work after following step-by-step but PSP-FTPD does. Like @godreborn said, it's very slow uploading files to the PSP, but it's better than nothing.

According to @Acid_Snake, ARK-4's FTP server uses the same server as PSP-FTPD but for some reason, unlike the latter, it doesn't use all the available RAM and the performance depends on the quantity of available RAM, which in turn depends on the quantity of available games. I guess I have too many unlike you and others.

What do you mean "for some reason"? The "reason" is obvious to anyone with half of brain activity. The PSP has only 24MB available for games and apps. You can't really see the difference between the custom launcher, which features themes, background animations, a games menu with lots of icons loaded, a file browser and more, vs a simple black-and-white text-based FTP server?

At this point my friend there's nothing anybody can do about your lack of extremely simple and basic knowledge. This is why everybody gets frustrated with you when they try to help you. You can't grasp very simple concepts like what 24MB of RAM can achieve in 2023 (next to nothing....).

Why are you only answering now when I asked you about this issue over 2 weeks ago in another thread?

Sorry for being obvious for everyone except me.

And why did you release PS Vita's standalone ARK-4 version in such a state (regarding the other issues) and haven't fixed the other problems yet? Of course it's my half brain activity's fault and lack of extremely simple and basic knowledge and I don't have the right to be frustrated, especially when those kind of problems still happen in 2023 (and it's also my half brain activity's fault and lack of extremely simple and basic knowledge the fact ARK-4's GitHub repository's README.md didn't even mention the other issue existed until some months ago as well as important instructions regarding ARK-4's install on the PS Vita/PS TV in the first place), not to mention some of them I (and other users) complained about that were fixed after updates were released (and that happened a lot) were my fault too as well as those which were caused by faulty hardware and others no one ever had and so no one could help me.
