Just delete the respective game's file. The files are named after the game ID.
folder location: dev_hdd0/game/PS2CONFIG

have you tried it on any games that had problems running ?

How about you try installing that pkg then let us know if it fixes Ghosthunter. It's an issue dating back like 13 years.

Edit: Saved you the effort. Doesn't work. There is no config file for that game in the pkg. I think it's just incompatible on the PS3 and needs to be played on a PS2 or PCSX2.

I was wrog before. The pkg did in fact have a config file for the game. But there are three of them.

/dev_hdd0/game/PS2CONFIG/USRDIR/CONFIG/CUSTOM
/dev_hdd0/game/PS2CONFIG/USRDIR/CONFIG/GX
/dev_hdd0/game/PS2CONFIG/USRDIR/CONFIG/SOFT

The one located in /CUSTOM has the same SHA-1 hash as the one from the above site. Still cannot get past the church ladder.

usa 1 - worked 😁

See my edit. lol. USA is the one I have. SLUS_209.93. What folder did you place the downloaded config file in? The CUSTOM folder? If so it's the same as the one already in there and I still can't get past that ladder. Also, does the iso file need to have the same name as the CONFIG file? Or is it fine to have Ghosthunter.iso?

Another question. If the CONFIG file is supposed to go in the game folder, why are there three different config files for the game in the locations I mentioned above? What are the two in GX and SOFT for? All three config files are different. Also, if it's in the game folder can I just delete the entire PS2CONFIG folder that installing the pkg created?

Edit: Nevermind all of the stuff the pgk installed. I deleted the entire folder, placed the single config file in the game folder, and it works fine. Thanks!

Iirc, gx is for software bc on those older ps3s. That's what Sony calls that emulator. Soft is named after the precursor to netemu, which is the ps2 classics emulator. It's what Sony was going to use for legit discs on nonbc consoles. However, Sony got greedy and scrapped it.

So what is the purpose of installing that pkg if it doesn't place any of the config files in the right location for them to work?
