It can't work anyway

To be fair I said this early on. I'm not a programmer (more a tweaker if that). I'm assuming you are as you seem to have knowledge in this area. I still think this can work.... Just not at this point in time. But I do believe someone will figure out the signing keys eventually.

There's still other problems though. The switch hasn't been software exploitable since V4 fw. So it'd potentially mean downgrading the FW, then the switch wouldn't run due to a fuse count. And yes I know the hyperthetical Nsp file wouldn't do anything the browser hack didn't (just more convenient).

Thanks, buddy!
Is there a way to boot to this CFW without keeping attaching my switch to the PC and loading the payload fuse?

I bet you've been following this laughing. But the easiest way for you would be via RCM loader. There small enough to carry in your switch case and eliminate the need for a laptop.

I've often wondered if there is an nsp that would install a "game" that when launched boots into cfw.

The idea being you would run cfw on your sysnand once install the nsp. Then theoretically you would never need your jig again.

I've not seen one so presumably it can't be done.

I might try it using a forwarder... But I doubt it'll work if there is no homebrew app to forward. I don't have the knowledge to write the nsp from scratch or even if it can be done.
Technically yes. You could create a NSP to run a reboot to payload NRO. That is basically what NSPs do anyway, just run an NRO.

The problem is that once that NSP is installed on the system, it won't be bootable under stock firmware. The reason you use sigpatches on Atmosphere is to add in the functionality to boot these installed NSPs. Without sigpatches, you need a 'licence' of sorts to boot the game and you only get that with a game or piece of software you have bought cartridge for or installed via the e-shop.
