Hello, as the title suggests, the n3ds xl won't turn on with an abrupt shutting down sound everytime i try to turn it on. I am 99% sure i didn't leave anything unplugged inside the 3ds, but i thought your opinions would be appreciated: (video for reference)

Thank you so much.

If your 3DS shuts down with a loud "POP" sound, then a ribbon cable is baddly connected. Looking at your pictures, everything seems fine so far, the only thing that must be checked first are the two ribbon cables under the camera ribbon cable that I have marked inside the circle:

You will need to detach everything again, but I'm prety sure that the issue could be in that particular pair of ribbon cables, those belong to the top screen and the speakers respectively and 99 of times people place them backrwards when reasembling the console, leading to your issue.

Everything is okay under there too:

If any of the ribbon cables are damaged or not plugged in correctly it will refuse to boot.
I know, but everything is hooked up correctly, it was working fine, i cleaned the abxy button board, reconnected it and voila, it's not turning on with a loud pop.

EDIT: managed to get it to work by reassembling everything, on thing left not working, are the mic and home button, which is obvious since the ZIF connectors made by nintendo are effing retarded, i either need to push down the golden pins one by one using a thin needle, or i just need to put foam on it to push it down, only question is, since i know the ZIF Connector is for the mic, and the other is for the home button, can anyone help me identify the rest of these pins and what they do ?

Those ribbons are notorious to work with, are you also connecting both of the shoulder button cables?
hey you're right, didn't work because i wasn't connecting the shoulder button ribbons, but now I managed to put enough pressure using a combination of folded paper and duct tape, and both the home button and mic work as intended, sadly the very first objectif of my disassembly was to clean the B Button because it was either not inputting or inputting twice, still hasn't worked, you ever got that issue, if so how did you work it out ? i looked around all that was said was cleaning the button which did nothing so far.

You're kinda fortunate that I'm in the middle of an LCD replacement on a NEW XL hehe. When cleaning the buttons did you remove the membrane? Check this vid out. If its corroded make sure to neutralize it with vinegar and then clean it with IPA. If its soda or something similar just use IPA.

Now that I think about it you could probably use kapton tape if you have some laying around, but after watching through that video again he says (link) he just laid it back down and it would be held together by the case. I'm fairly certain he is just using the residual stickiness that's left on the white membrane.

Completely agree with u i might've missed that part because he said he'll clean under the pads as well so i thought the glue in there will get cleaned if too, thanks :D
