Alright so I got this Switch that the guy told me he only used in handheld as he didn't have a dock, fast forward to today and I end up receiving the Switch and checking it out, I do already have a Switch but wanted a 2nd one so I already got a dock, as I plug it in I see that it's giving me these blackouts that happen basically every time I have it on, maybe sometimes it doesn't black out for a minute or so but then it starts doing it again, I was planning on using this Switch in docked and the guy didn't tell me it was actually damaged, I do have the tools needed I'm just waiting on the tri-wing screwdriver but I would love everyone's input on what the issue could be, my guess it's either the USB-C port, the PI3USB A/V Out chip or the M92T17 chip, since it charges though I'm not 100% sure if it would be the USB though.. but would like to hear what you guys think.

This is my first repair on a Switch so I'm just assuming after watching a good few videos about repairing this console

My bet is on the P13USB, although I'd also check if the board wasn't already repaired once and look for damaged filters or missing caps around the P13USB.

In my opinion, the M92T36 isn't at fault. If it was, you'd have a error code 2101 or something when you start the console.
Or it would start at all.

Someones already been inside of it for sure, joycons arent even fully screwed in and the screws are clearly a little worn on the Switch itself, I doubt whoever opened it even knew what was going on because even the USB-C isnt replaced and thats what set me off.
Im waiting on the screwdriver to come in and then Ill just check out the P13 with a multimeter but since it already kinda works I doubt it will tell me if its fucked or not, might just have to buy a new one and a new USB-C and hope for the best

I think youre right on the P13USB being the problem, I heard that theres issues with damaged P13USB where the console only displays 480p, for me it did display 1080p but there was constant blackouts, changing to 480p, I had it on for 5+ minutes so far and it blacks out much less if at all, think I just gotta replace that chip and I'm golden

Sounds like p13usb is either dying or the filter near the p13usb is dying

All signs point to that being the issue to be honest, if thats the only thing I gotta replace I would get the Switch for like 75 euro or so, cant complain lol
