What languages are you learning and what resources do you use?

Feel free to post progress, tips and tricks, resources, or ask for advice

I've been learning Chinese for a few years now, I mostly use duolingo, but I've also used HelloChinese. I have found some helpful anki decks as well. I had a really long streak on duolingo, but it lapsed :'( I'm currently trying to get the year streak

What about you guys?

korean (i cant read korean properly even though im korean prolly becuase i lived in australia my whole life)
my parents are my resource becuase they know korean becuase they are korean

you ever try duolingo? They start you off with a section on learning hangul

The earlier you learn the better you'll master it

Duolingo is good, rather funny for Latin. School is good too.
English, French, German, Latin, Italian, Serbo-Croatian and Japanese at various levels.

My parents say I need to learn Spanish because of my last name since people will assume that I know Spanish. I gotta get started on that since I wasn't able to take it in my previous years of school and I'm going to be a senior next year.
I'm also thinking of taking Japanese. Could be useful for translating games and for the Jap. 3DS I got a little while ago.

1. English, mostly school stuff and now through books / internet
2. Japanese,self study + visited a course in college, but since dumb corona happening that one was put on hold, so hopefully when The normal curriculum starts again, I can continue.
3. since my dumbass thought Latin would be better than French in school, I at least wanted to use it as foundation, and tried a bit Spanish.
4. in the Future I Hope to also try to learn a bit Korean

I may start taking Japanese clases, either that or self taught Esperanto, i don't have much of a use for either, though with Japanese i will finally be able to appreciate animation and drawing in anime better, plus save space with writing

My biggest reason for always wanting to learn japanese was all of the games that never got localized.

I'm having a go at chinese, but it would help a bit if I wanted to learn Japanese later since I'd know a lot of kanji.

Russian. Finished the Duolingo course, but didn’t get all the topics to level 5 as the material was getting repetitive. Have started Rocket Languages, which has a lot more speaking practice, but have been a bit put off getting going properly on it because it’s starting from zero expected knowledge (and I’m a bit annoyed about the way it was advertised - the ‘complete’ course is in fact ‘complete level 1: beginner’ and the intermediate course will cost the same amount again...).

My favourite resource is Alexander Lipson’s ‘A Russian Course’ that is both very thorough grammatically and a hilarious satire on Soviet life - songs about concrete, loafers who smoke in parks, the very clean city where each seat on the trolleybus has its own washbasin &c.

There is a recording to go with it, but the university who publish it only take payment by USD *cheque*, and I haven’t found a way of sending one from Britain other than getting a family member in the US to send one and giving them the money back in some other way.

I know, that sounds stupid, but it's my second language, and I never was properly taught in schools, thank you Québec.

A lot of trial and error, and chatting with people online, playing games, watching/listening shows, were most of the methods that did help me over the years.
I suppose you can eventually get away with what they call "practice".

I always find it amsuing how we have to bend over backwards for French, but they don't have to for English.

English is a much easier and simplified language, this is the main reason why.

Japanese, cause I'm not original at all. Its a fun language, even tho my teacher always tells me how many young students enter cause of anime and end giving up. Anyways yeah private classes. And some resources like Tanoshii Japanese to help me with Kanjis and stuff
