Has anyone else tested the Omega DE with a GBAConsolizer? I tried with mine yesterday and the Omega DE would not boot. It works fine on the other consoles I have (DS phat, DS Lite, and GBA Micro). The GBAConsolizer (with latest firmware flashed) of course also works with other carts, including Everdrive flashcarts. If someone else could confirm an incompatibility with the GBAConsolizer we can report it to the EZ Flash team, as well as Woozle (GBAConsolizer dev).

I realy want to test this cart out!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

In the New Year of 2021, we are pleased to announce the release of EZ-FLASH OMEGA Definitive Edition. This product is based on the EZ-FLASH OMEGA and implements some of the functional requirements that users have made while using the EZ-FLASH OMEGA. This product will not replace the EZ-FLASH OMEGA, but will be sold in parallel as an enhanced product with upgraded features.

You should recruit me =]
I've done an interesting research article about the EZ FLASH JR and how to fix some common issues like the ._duplicate-files and sorting in alphabetical order, also save states

hahahaha I was just posting 5 random posts so my account could publish my first thread about fixing EZFLASH JR common issues like ._duplicate-files , sorting alphabetically and a savestate workaroud .

But yeah I might buy it at some point, kind of hoping to partner with them to keep my open research on their carts

what does this new FRAM mean for how the saves work on the new cart? And how does the saving compare to the Everdrive and the original Omega cart?

FRAM is ferroelectric RAM. It's a type of Non-volatile memory that will not lose its contents when the Game Boy is shut off or the cartridge is removed. This removes the need for a battery to keep the save or the base Omega's "Direct Save."

The saving of this new flashcart is more like the EZ-Flash IV where it would wait until you powered the console back on to save to the SD Card, basically fixing the save corruption issue that the base Omega had.

As for the EverDrive, I don't quite know the situation for that but I think it's similar.

Would you guys recomend this new version, the original or Everdrive? I have been wanting a cart but haven't been able to decide, if battery life is one of my main concerns vs something like cheats, is everdrive the better way to go?

Product received for free.

I personally would recommend the Definitive Edition. It's a definite upgrade from the base EZ-Flash Omega, and basically fixes all of the problems that everyone had with the previous cartridge. An SD activity LED, rumble support, reduced battery usage, and no SD Card corruption. And plus, the kernel will eventually be open sourced, so expect some cool stuff! The EverDrive simply doesn't have as many features compared to the EZ-Flash Omega / Definitive Edition.

If you simply can't afford the Definitive Edition, then the EZ-Flash Omega base model is already pretty great.

I have received my cart today!

I have to test it more, but it seems to work without issues. Rumble is enabled with drill dozer, and the led is great for avoiding sd corruption.

Pretty much all, if any, possibility of accidental SD card corruption has been fixed with the removal of that direct save feature on the base cartridge. I've been putting my cartridge through some tests that would normally corrupt my base cartridge, and it has stood up pretty well!

That's too bad, interesting to note there ever were purple ones though as I haven't even seen any images of those online.
I believe I've got got every color except regular clear. Red, blue, pink, purple, green, orange, and black.

Also re: Crystal Clear has been updated to support Goomba Color and ShockSlayer says a similar patch would be possible to fix stock Crystal on Goomba Color as well.

That's pretty sick!
