Have you legally changed your name?

Nah. My name is fine because if you changed it then they will keep asking you if you changed it and what was your real name before ? Blah blah. That's annoying. I prefer to leave it alone and my parents gave it to me and that's that. Less hassle and accepted it.

I actually like it as it is, not to mention that in Italy you do not have a general right to change your name even in good faith (who knows why)

The closest equivalent is what Starbucks employees in the USA write on my drinks

My name was changed when I was 6.

Both of my names are always spelt wrong.

I've been thinking about adjusting it a bit for three reasons:

They mistyped my last name in my birth certificate, so I'd like that to be fixed.
I'd like to append my mum's last name to mine, so I can hand it down to my kids instead of my dad's (he left the family before I was even born)
I'd like to also include my confirmation-name,* so I can have a comically long name (5 words, including the above modification)

*Okay, so I haven't found anything about this on the English Wikipedia article, so just in case this isn't a thing elsewhere, here's an explanation: in Hungary, when you do your confirmation, you also get another, unofficial first name that you can freely choose, though traditionally you'd get the first name of your commatre/padrino (yes, I know this is Italian and no, I didn't find English words for them).

My parents chose my actual full name because they couldn't legally put my shortened one everyone knows me for.

My mom has said multiple times I can change it but I don't mind it

Without going off-topic too much, some Eurasians are more towards being European-looking while others are more towards Asian-looking. Keanu Reeves (I watch any movie he's in) for example looks mostly European, though those who can identify races can tell he's partially Asian.

Maria Ozawa also looks mostly European (I don't remember how I came across her name, just keep in mind she does "adult" "acting") and Carlos Ghosn (European-Japanese) too, but Ghosn can look either part whenever he wants.

Moreover, without looking up info on Jair Bolsonaro I knew he was of German ancestry based on his looks. Yes, Wikipedia states he has Italian roots has well, but the German side seems to be the majority of his DNA.

P.S. Westerners (Europeans) tend to treat people who live in the Americas differently, except most of them share the same DNA/ancestry so they shouldn't hate (yes, even to that point). Hell, regardless of race, really. No need for anyone to be xenophobic or racist, it feels as though most of the time it happens out of ignorance (Mr. Brown from The Office was right! ).

My parents could name me child no. 2 and I wouldn't care, names are not important.

But, I am in the process of changing my name again. This is because the name I went with wasn’t really the one I wanted. I picked it because it was the one I was using for many years and everyone was already used to it. But then I really wasn’t feeling it shortly after changing my name and really felt silly that I rushed through the legal name change process before actually sitting down and deciding what name I wanted. I don’t dislike my current legal name and I am still proud that I went through the work to finally change it after everything I went through. I just realized after changing my name the first time that there was better name that I should have gone with.

Can you guys imagine to wake up tomorrow and everyone start to call you with an other name + knowing your old name is not your property nor a part of you anymore ?

It is sad, I don't really like my name but it's a part of me and a part of who I am, I will never change it.
