these are my settings (pstv), compare these to gepatch

Sharpscale Plugin
Scaling Mode::Fitted
Scaling algorithm:: point

Adrenaline
graphics filtering::sharp bilinear without scanlines
smooth graphics::yes
screen scale::1.900 (reduced from 2.000)
screen scale::1.900 (reduced from 2.000)

.........
.........
.........
compare this to the visual look of "gepatch".................its nearly the same, additionally, there's no additional slowdown and dropped frames from gepatch.

it was a good try, adrenaline and bubble manager got recent updates because of gepatch, memory addresses were shifted that may benefit those applications without the use of gepatch.

Added to list of, lost frames, and lower frame rate, uneven game loading depending on the segment..........

on the good side of things.............and gepatch is a disaster

using "Adrenaline Bubble Manager", you can disable plugin loading, PER GAME, you may get lucky and "gepatch" provides only slight better visual then the settings stated in the OP, (vita handheld users may not get the same result, reference pstv using sharpscale plugin)

(on the handheld unit, there is
"LCD Colour Space Changer", you can change those settings using a registry editor for the pstv also.........."sharpscale" is closer to the handheld quality for the pstv, no pictures really necessary)

(those updates were pretty quickly done, considering, the time inbetween adrenaline updates, seems the project is finished, but, the gepatch could be adjusted to ignore, fmv's, or etc. we may see some lower res screens, but as stated in the OP it wouldn't be a big difference visually)

(to fix optimization, we may even see some portion of the screen at a lower resolution, tied to fov, that would be a big boost too)

(there are unreasonable requests, with bounties out, like to have the vita do the rendering at native res, not like it is with gepatch which uses the emulator ............... that is a serious amount of reprogramming either redesign the emulator, or, redesign the drivers for it ............. gepatch needs some tweaking, it is a disaster that is clear .......... so we'll have to see..............) (seems worth it for the class of heroes games)

GEPatch is considered an "early preview", it has a long way to go. While framerate will probably continue to be an issue in some games, I expect compatibility to expand with less crashing and glitches over time.

I've also raised concerns about compatibility with sharpscale. I'm not sure that GEpatch works with it or not. Then again if you are using any Adrenaline menu scaling mode but Original you should be bypassing sharpscale anyway (which means PSTV will be blurring it up)

Glad to hear that ABM lets you turn it on/off at least, as mentioned its completely broken on many games but can be a nice boost on some.

  • Adrenaline 7, vita, changelog

  • Fixed issue where plugins were loaded in recovery mode.
  • Moved native display buffer to a different location, so GePatch works for some more games. Please note that only GePatch v0.18 or above will only work, older versions will cause a black screen. If you're using GTANativeRes, please download the latest binary as well.

Those sound like memory leaks, without even using the disaster of "gepatch" .............. this is more then good for anyone that's had a specific issue, with some psp games and transitions.

"Adrenaline Bubble Manager" .......... supposedly decreases lag and game latency, by loading a stripped down version of the emulator when the game is launched, you do have full options and menu support though. (most notable with rhythm games).............(other games like yugioh, tactics games with lots of loading should see improvements too).

"gepatch" is really a disaster, but look at the updates on those!!!!!!

Got it working on a handheld Vita and it does indeed look nice and sharp in games like Tomb Raider, Powerstone, and Soul Calibur. however the framerate drops really interfere with the gameplay. I would've liked it to get a sharper zoom mode on Tactics Ogre but it actually disables the zoom for some reason. Cleaning up SotN inside Castlevania X would also be nice but currently the UI borders are broken. Fun to play around with but nothing I've found worth keeping yet.

A toggle on ABM specifically for GePatch would be pretty awesome if possible, because as is it seems there's few games I'm going to want to use this on. Also I wonder if renders of less than 2x are possible, like 1.5x, might be easier on the performance and you can clean it up a bit with the scaling filters.
