The Black 1+2 and White 1+2 Games are working in DS Mode.
You can also use TWiLight on a supported Flashcart with Memory Expansion Pack on the DS Lite (better Performance).
The Games are working without DSi "Gimmicks".
If you "want" to play online,what "holds you back" to get an original Pokémon Gamecart ?

Aren't the original ds servers already offline? I know there's custom DNS you can put on your ds WIFI setting to connect to alt servers which also work for the event Pokémon DNS trick.Hello.

Please do some research, before making such assumptions.
As said many times, such as from @banjo2's screencaps, DSi mode will work in the future. A past screenshot from shutterbug2000 (posted by me in the nds-bootstrap thread) proves this.
