Hello, i have a question.

There are many gb/gbc games they need a second game to trade things (game watch gallery 2 the last games in the museum from the game watch gallery 1). You can´t complete 100% a game if you make the gb /gbc roms to cias and play this on the 3DS. My idea was to backup the save from the gb gbc VC, copy to the pc and play with the emulator the things that i miss. After this i take the save file, change the name and bring back the save to the 3ds and import the save. The first to step are working. After i bring back the save file and import the save file nothing change...

Sorry for my bad english i hope you can understand me.

Did you make sure to rename the saves to .dat file extension first of all? Also, what are you using to backup/restore the saves (eg: JKSM)? Finally, make sure they are in the correct directories and that the emulator saving settings aren't changing the save type from that of the 3DS's Virtual Console.

Yes. After i played the game on the emulator i rename it to save.dat and bring back to the same direction i got it. Yes, i use JKSM. Okay how can i make it that the emulator don´t change the save type ?

Simply go to wherever the options are for whatever emulator you are using and switch the save type and save size to automatic, that way it will retain them instead of forcibly changing them. Automatic makes existing saves to remain the same type and size, while for new ones it uses the suggested save type and size for each game (basically what games normally keep their saves as).

Okay i don´t find it. I use the VBA-M and the one and only thing i found was save type and that is on automatic

VBA should have the save size exactly under that, set it to 64KBs. Besides that, I don't know why it's not working for you. Unless you can check with a hex editor that the emulator doesn't add/remove the last 8 bytes from the save, that's the only thing you can do for now to hopefully get results.

You don't need to know how it works, only to check and see if the emulator adds/removes any bytes at the very end. If it adds, delete them, if it removes, add them (all as "00").

Okay i tested. Here is the first sav i get after backup the gameboy vc game (game watch gallery)
https://gyazo.com/acaf95d27a6b67b38a808f03a765db7e
https://gyazo.com/e530bc0f3135f25b6159357e0832c87f

I put this sav in the emulator direction with the rom, change the name to Game & Watch Gallery (Europe).sav and played the game (first game, score from 6 to 8)
After this i rename this to sav.dat (i wrote sava.dat becauso not to confuse with the first sav.dat, i made a copy of the first sav.dat)

https://gyazo.com/c7c6a52094de71346e120fb441171126

nothing changed.. i put the sav.dat back to my 3DS and import with the backup program in my game back. Nothing changed. my score is 6

EDIT: If i use the new sav.dat back to my emulator, the score is 8.

Try using the computer version of VBA, that's all I can think of. It may be the mobile version does something to the saves. Tried for the exact same game you mentioned on PC and it works without any issues:unsure:

I'm here for the same question, I'm sorry if there's another thread about this solving it, if it exists, I couldn't find it and I would like to know how to do this.

I want to inject saves from my GB/GBC games into my 3DS, I know how to do it with the main series of Pokémon, but the others didn't work for me.

Thank you for any help!

What program/utility were you using to inject saves? Sometimes what I do is use more than one program. It boosts the compatibility rating up much higher.

I use JKSV, but my problem is that I want for example use my Hamtaro Ham Hams United save into my 3DS VC rom but it doesn't work.

Do you have access to a computer? Sometimes, it is better to use desktop programs, instead of JKSV.
Yes, and I have put my save into the extracted save from the 3DS, but it doesn't read it, I don't know how it works, it's not that I don't understand how to extract or inject the saves, it's more that I don't know how to make it work, if you can try with your 3DS to put a VisualBoyAdvance save from any GB/GBC game into the official GB/GBC VC 3DS emulator, please, tell me how.
