Gaming Animal Crossing in-game events

I’ve installed Animal Crossing New Horizons on my Switch with SX OS (so no online connection). If I update my game with the new updates and DLCs, I can play all in-game events? Or there has to be some kind of online check in order to start them in-game?

I’m trying to understand which limitations has the game if played offline. If someone knows what change in offline mode, please explain

If you updated the game fully with the dlc and updates, you would still not be able to play in the in-game events. The special in-game events are found in bcat files, which someone has to dump manually. There are instruction floating around the internet on how to install the files. Once you install the file, and if installed correctly your game should start with a version number along with the letter "a". There is no online check of any kind since you are offline.

In regards to playing offline, nothing really has changed, you still get everything that the game has to offer. You however wont be able to use nintendo online services like using the terminal in nooks cranny or even flying to join a friend's island unless it was through lan play. Also any future in-game events that nintendo throws out you would not be able to access unless you install those bcat files.

In my experience so far there hasn't be an issue. I haven't fully done the May Day Event on my modded switch with SX OS but I was able to talk to Lief so I can only assume that all the other features are working.

Hmm... I can’t understand if it’s necessary to install bcat files as @roarn20 said, or can be played with all events just with the installation of .nsp updates
Maybe someone else can give me his experience with this game.
