Hello.:)

If you use USB Sticks/SD to USB Adapter Solutions and this Type with USBLoader GX the chance is very high that it is not working.:(

To give you better Support and Help please post a sysCheck of your Wii to see in which "Shape" it is.

This GBAtemp Link will help you to achive this:
-I can't post links with this account (first post) so I removed this-

Please attach the sysCheck.csv or the Content of it in your next Answer.

Thank you.:)

Hi, I'm having the same issue as OP and I'm hoping you can help me too. I did the SysCheck and this is what I got:

Hello.:)

Thank you for your sysCheck,a very good Idea.

IOS249 (rev 65280): Stub
IOS250 (rev 65535): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0

Your Wii has not the needed cIOSes installed, that is the Reason of your Issue(s).
They are needed to get your USBLoader and Games work properly.

You can use the d2x cIOS Installer for this like in the "offcial" Guide described:
https://wii.guide/cios.html

or

You can use ModMii to get the needed cIOS wad Files and install it with an WAD Manager like WiiMOD Lite per Hand.

It is suggested to install your cIOSes this Way:

cIOS 249 {57] v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52
cIOS 250 [56] v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52

Because Base 57 has the better Compatibility for the Games.
(If you install it like in the Guide you mabye later have to set the Game IOS manually for some Games in the In Game Settings from 249 to 250,it is not really a Problem).:)

After that your USBLoader should work correctly with your USB Device. Please read above about the "Requirements" for USB Devices.:)

Before you do anything, please be sure you have Priiloader and/or BootMii installed.

If you have any Questions or you feel unsure please feel free to ask.
Thank you and
Good Luck.:)

Hi again,
thanks a lot for your reply! I think I'll use the tutorial provided because it looks clear, but what you're saying is that it's better to use base 57, 56, and 58, for cIOS 249, 250, and 251 respectively?

Also, I'm not sure how I can check wether I have Priiloader and/or BootMii installed, so I'd be very thankful if you could help me with that too.
Looking forward to your reply and thanks in advance!

Hello.:)

You can make it like in the Manual/Tutorial or as my Suggestion.
It is both Way ok.

If you later use USBLoader GX for the Wii Games you maybe will experience some Games, that will not run/work on cIOS 249.
That is the Common cIOS (and also for some Homebrew Applications) to use for the Games to run under USBLoader GX.
That is normal and no great Deal to change. Why I suggest it then ?

https://gbatemp.net/threads/usb-loader-gx.149922/page-1287#post-8486867

With the latest release of USBLoader GX last Year there was seemingly some Changes and many Users reports having Troubles to Run the Games with the standard Settings.
If you want to understand this, you have to understand, how the Wii works. If you want to know about, there are many great Manuals and Explanations:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/wii-hacking-explained.501605/

https://gbatemp.net/threads/is-d2x-and-cios249-the-same.350027/#post-4687010

A lot to Read but it is worth.:)

You can use the d2x cIOS Guide as suggested please. It makes no damage or something.:)

Priiloader Check: Please press and hold the RESET Button on your Wii and power it on.If a Menu appears, you have it installed and an "Brick Protection" at the same Time.
If something goes wrong and the Wii is not booting correct in to the System Menu again, you have the Chance to "repair" it with very little effort with Priioader installed.

BootMii should be also installed as IOS or better as boot2.It also saves your Life if you installed some wrong .wad File/Channel and the Wii is no longer boot into the System Menu.

Here is the usual Way described, how to install BootMii first right on the Homebrew Channel Installation after you made the Exploit to hack your Wii.
To say,the FIRST Step:

https://wii.guide/hbc

To make a NAND Backup is also one of the first Things you have to do.
It is the "Life Saver" and you can use it to "recover" you Wii if some wad/cIOS Installation fails and your Wii is no longer working correctly.

https://wii.guide/bootmii

After that the Priiloader Installation is next:

https://wii.guide/priiloader

and then you will find yourself on the d2x cIOS Installer. That is the most common Procedure to hack your Wii and get it ready for Game Loading.

Please read everthing in Calm and Peace, then you will have many Fun on this.:)

Good Luck and
Thank you for your Patience.:)

Hi again!
I just finished downloading and installing everything and tested a game, and I just want to tell you that it worked!! I didn't read the first two links with explanations (although I'm planning on doing so later) but the other links and the tutorials worked like a charm! I'm really grateful of all your help, you are a true hero!! Thank you so so much for helping me and responding so quickly!! You're the best!

Welp, here I am again.
I've been playing games on my Wii the last few days and even though most things work, I've run into some issues.

1. When using USB Loader GX's built-in feature to install original games from disc to my USB drive, the installing freezes at a random moment. I can then still see the game icons in the background play their animations and I can still move around my cursor and the 'cancel' button reacts when I hover over it. The 'cancel' button does however not work nor does anything else, I have to turn off my Wii to get it working again.

2. I have over 100 games installed and I haven't tried them all, although all games I've tried work just fine. Only 1 game doesn't, and when I hover over it and press 'A' on my remote, the game's title screen does not open and the blue line around it (the one which indicates that it knows my cursor hovers over it) disappears and every other game from then on does the same when I try to open it's title screen.

Do you have any idea what causes these two issues and how I can fix them? I'd really appreciate it if you help me again. I'm looking forward to your reply and thanks in advance!

Hi again, simple question this time (or at least I hope so).
->Where can I find the global/loader settings?

Also, the game that causes my 2nd issue is Wii Play.

Hello.:)

The "normal" Settings Button from USBLoader GX.
If you open it is says above "Global Settings".:D

For Wii Play:

I have only the NTSC Version.and this runs on IOS 249 without any Change of the Settings.
I will see for an PAL Version and report back if you like.

Thank you.:)

Hello.:)

I have tried the PAL Version 1.01 - please Note there are two Releases - v1.00 and v1.01.
It works without any Changing of the Settings.

Maybe your Game/ISO/WBFS is corrupt.
Please have a Look on the Checksum of it with the WiiBackup Manager or an Tool like this:
http://esrg.sourceforge.net/utils_win_up/md5sum/

and compare it here please (at the Bottom of the Page - Verson 1.00):
https://www.gametdb.com/Wii/RHAP01

For the ISO Version 1.01:

Size: 4,699,979,776
CRC-32: 18D23A50
MD-5: c841cfee2061d56b04439b8106baabb6

The installed WBFS has a Size about 100 MB.

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

For the installing from originial disk, changing Loader´s IOS from 58 to 249 doesn't work, the process still freezes like before.

As for Wii Play, here's what I got:

[001/001] C:\Users\[Redacted]\Desktop\SC8P01.wbfs
Size: 675,282,944
CRC-32: BC8D7E5B
MD-5: 8b19aed317a1d0819ea573002d1b3321

This doesn't appear to match either of the two you sent.

Wii Play Motion:

For the PAL Version there are no Changes needed.
For the NTSC Version (on a PAL Wii) I had to Change the Settings

Patch Country Strings -> ON

Hello.:)

That is because you have "Wii Play Motion".:)
ID:SC8P01
Whoops, my bad, I didn't know Wii Play Motion existed nor that I had it on my USB drive. I scanned the actual Wii Play file this time and this is what I got:

C:\Users\[Redacted]\Desktop\RHAE01.wbfs
Size: 100,663,296
CRC-32: B6562B28
MD-5: 4d5551851719697f57641fe496934c21

I'd also like to add that I'm still unable to install games on my USB from an original game disk, even after changing Loader´s IOS from 58 to 249.

Hey Alexander1970, are you ok?
You usually respond very quickly and it has now been about two weeks since my last message (which you liked). So, given the current situation of the world, I'm worried something might've happened to you. Please tell me if you're ok.

Also, you can ignore the quote, I just didn't know for sure how else to notify you of my message :)

Hi,

We did indeed talk about Wii Play Motion, but that was by my mistake as I meant to send you the scan of Wii Play instead (which I did sent in a later message). I'm once again sorry for that.

The USB device I'm using is an Expansion+ drive with a 2 TB memory from the brand Seagate. I hope this helps.

Hello.:)

Thank you for your Patience.

For the Install Option - it is in the Meantime confirmed there are sometimes "Issues" with the latest Build r1272 from USBLoader GX on the Game Disc Install Option with some HDD Combinations.

So you can use the previous Build r1271,this Version should work.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbloadergx/files/Releases/New revisions (3.0+)/

If you experience Issues or Troubles, please delete the USBLoader GX Settings too.
(SD:\apps\usbloader_gx\)
Maybe your other Issue is also solved with it.:)

If you look on the USB Compatibility List:
https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List
you will notice different Results with the 1 TB and 2 TB of your HDD Version.:(

Good Luck
and
Thank you again for your Patience.:)

Hey, just to be sure, I have to unzip the r1271 file, open the apps folder and replace the USBloaderGX in the apps folder on my SD card with the USBloaderGX in the just downloaded apps folder?
