If you are on 3.60 it's really not worth the hassle updating to 3.65, just use the Ref00d plugin which allows you to play games requiring a higher firmware.

Yes, I was confused because I guess downgrading is a recent development but I was able to downgrade from 3.68 to 3.60 with moduru and a lot of info still says you can't downgrade. 3.69 and 3.7 can not or if your factory firmware level was too high, moduru detects that for you. .
Absolute noob question, why can't older firmwares use newer exploits? (Why can't I install h-encore or Henkaku on a PS Vita running firmware 5.0?)
incorrect.... some new Japanese PS Vita's ship with 3.68 factory firmware...
you will be very lucky to locate a brand new PS Vita on 3.60 factory firmware now.....
Im in the USA, I just want to make sure I buy the right Vita to get me to 3.60. Sounds like the only "sure" way is to buy a 1000 series since the original firmware had to be very low. What about the Assassins Creed model? Its PCH-1101.
That's still part of the 1000 series (the second 1 means it has a cellular modem, which is a pro when it comes to hacking since it means you can replace it with a psvsd and leave the game card slot free if you plan to buy physical games later on but also want to use microSD instead of official memory cards*, and the final 01 means American model)
* after you hack the console and install the appropriate drivers, of course - that in turn means you must buy an official memory card too (4GB is well more than needed)
Hey... to be fair around 95%+ of all Vita's will be able to be hacked to run 3.60 or 3.65 enso so I shouldn't worry too much unless you are looking at buying a new one from Amazon japan - apparently some of these are 3.68 factory firmware.
If you want a 100% guarantee to get 3.60 then just pick up any OLED Vita; Assassins Creed Model will be fine.

so my Vita is a Slim/3.73 and has never been touched by outside sources im aware of a downgrader but every guide i look at assumes you have stuff already ready? For starters how am i going to put the downgrader on my Vita and the firmware page theres like 3 diff types to select from what one am i selecting?

I believe you also need your act.dat or have signed into psn to activate the system or else I don't think qcma will work. I don't think it will work without a valid account id.

ive been on psn before and stuff so QCMA will let me put the correct stuff on there? and if im downgrading to 3.60 what am i selecting? full official, pre 3.
i figured it out i guess the guide i was reading was diff. now that my vita is hacked i just need to know what i wanna do on it lol and those SD2Vita things whats the largest MicroSD you can use with it?
not sure of the largest. I'm using a 400GB card. I've heard 512 works too. 1TB probably works. the cap may be 2TB, which doesn't exist presently. btw, there was a sale on 1TB micro sd cards on amazon during black friday. marked down from $430 to $199.99. I jumped at that chance. that one is in my switch right now.
My memory card got corrupted. I'm on enso 3.65. Do I have to unlink it before I format it? I have a qcma backup of vitashell and bitter smile if required. Been a long time since I did this so I forgot.

I have a Vita 2000 with a 32GB Vita memory card. I had to downgrade from 3.73 and ive installed enso + SD2Vita on it. i followed the guide and such and it mentions you can clean off the SD or Internal memory all except a few folders. those folders are located on the 32gb Vita SD is there a way to move those folders to the internal memory? so my card is completely clean?
