Yup, got my 3.0 switch all set up the day they released it. Been waiting for the day I did not have to use a jig or a Linux box to get it running. Got everything backed up, fake news installed, and life is good.

Also 4.x.x users need to use a lot of caution and read all the documentation. Last I heard there's a super nag that will force a firmware update.

I’ve got a 410 nsw but I cannot see what’s so difficult about leaving it on standby with rcm and putting a small dongle in too boot it up you don’t even have to press the power button. Easypower will shut your nsw down to standby with rcm and all you have to do is plug your dongle in to power it straight back up again. As long as you keep your charging lead in the C-Port it won’t go flat. In fact I find this method less hassle!

I wasn't in any hurry to run homebrew. Now that there is an easier way that requires no extra hardware I figured why not. I have another up to date switch for normal use so not really a high priority for me.

well it's my opinion the dns method is indeed more convinent because the fact that you need any dongle from r/expanddong (terrible joke i know)

Guys please don’t get me wrong it’s your decision to do this, I’m not taking that away from you I’m just throwing my thoughts into the mix about the pegascape entry.

Does this only work with atmosphere does it work with every cfw?

Caffeine and Nereba let you run any payload so it should work with any CFW.

As to why this can be considered more convenient than the other exploit, some of us don't have a dongle so we need either a computer or a phone and a USB-C cable (and possibly a cable adapter for the phone) to boot our switch if we turn it off. So now we can trade these hardware requirements for the requirement of simply having a working internet connexion. I'm personally still waging if this is better or not than using autoRCM, I'll have to see how reliable the connexion to the pegascape servers is, but if it works properly it seems simpler to me. Also some people are just not comfortable with using a jig (they fear it may damage their pins) or to enable autoRCM since it modifies the internal memory of their device.

Now what would truly be perfect would be to find a way to redirect the internet request to a local file on the SD but I doubt this will ever be possible.

That is great indeed.
My Switch can be downgraded to ver. 3.0.0 but I'm a multiple SD card user so no go for me for now.
Besides I've recently got the RCM Launcher.

thanks for this thread
just got pegascape set up on my 1.0
so good not having to have autorcm on anymore nor any jig or stuff
just turn on into 1.0 sysnand, run fake news, click the nereba icon and sx 8.1 emunand boots up
hosting it on my pc as first dns and using the public dns for the second entry so in theory can warmboot into sx os from anywhere
sweet
