I have a slim with two open sensors and no matter how I put my pieces of tape in the discs won't spin fast enough or long enough. I've tried for hours. Help?

There's one over the on button which you can see. Stuff a tiny small amount of paper in there with tape. As for the second, you can stick a thin piece of cardboard until you hit the sensor.

However like Sakitoshi said, it's much easier to just take the top half appart and block that second sensor.

There's a total amount of three sensors. First that comes to mind is the one in the power button, hard to miss. The second is nearby the diskbrake: There is protruding plastic in the lid that gets into the hole when the lid is closed, also hard to miss.

The third one is the tricky. It's below and hidden nearby the thick hinge. The hinge internally has a mirrored L design, so the lower part of the hinge presses a sensor inside the case only when the lid is close. If you have small fingers and you dare a small piece of plastic or cardboard might do the trick (hard to do). The best way is just opening the console and gluing the sensors carefully. Personally, I never block the power button one, that way you can decide when you want to stop the disk.

I found out certain slims have different interiors than others and to my luck, my other one's third sensor is right out in the open. However, the drive still won't spin. On top of what's shown in the video, I wedged tape in that sliding mechanism on the cover. What am I doing wrong?

Its working perfectly, as the laser carriage moves when you press the power sensor. The laser alignment fails because there is no disc and the drive firmware puts the laser in park status. Just put a PS2 disk in there and press the power sensor, it'll get to spinning without any cover. Do not get hurt, as the disk spins really fast.

FYI a DVD movie would also work, but a PS2 copy would not as the firmware also parks the laser if it cannot verify the disk.

Edit: Oh! the laser alignment could also fail if there is too much light in the room, Thats why the cover exists in the first place (and not for blocking swaps).

In all honesty get MCBoot on a Memory Card and look into Open PS2 Loader/ OPL Loader and Pops Loader.

Get a USB Stick or equivalent and save your PS2 Lens for emergencies.

It spins and reads the disc now, but I'm trying to run a burned PS1 game and when I swap it with my dummy PS1 disc at the logo screen, nothing happens. I put the disc back in my computer and it's empty but no longer usable by imgburn and also write protected?
I tried other burns at x2 and 4x speed instead of 8 and I have the same problem.
Oh I'm an idiot, I'm using DVD-R instead of CD-R.

Nevermind, it won't spin anymore no matter how strong the tape is. The green thing the power button is on can come off now, did it break?
Update: It spins only when the top is taken off. ???
