As most of us know, the E3 Direct was live yesterday, showing a lot of great games as well as some not so good... What was your opinion on the direct? Did you see everything you wanted to see or did you expect more?

Personally, I thought the direct was great (maybe the best?) with lots of funny moments and some great games announced. Of course there is the Dragon Quest Hero fighter for SSBU which is alright, but I don't think we really needed more sword fighters (especially not 7+). The bowser moment was funny(ish) and cringe and I like Doug Bowser (but not as much as Reggie). Luigi's Mansion 3 looks absolutely amazing, introducing a lot of new features like the introduction of the Poltergust G-00 and Gooigi. Gooigi seems like a great character and adds a completely new layer to the game. The ScareScraper also looks very fun and would be a great party game. Next, The Dark Crystal. What can I say? It looks terrible. I remember the actual Film from the 1980s and it was great for its time but this game definitely puts it to shame. Next, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. The game looks super fun and it looks like they're going back to Classic Zelda style (dungeons, puzzles, etc) but with a really cute and chibi-like art style which I personally love. The Dungeon Maker feature sounds great (Super Zelda Maker 2???) and will add replayability to the game. Now, Trials of Mana. The gamehonestly looks pretty good, reminds of Xenoblade Chronicles but with different fighting mechanics. Personally, I haven't played the older Mana games but I've heard they're alright and I'm going to pick up the Collection of Mana soon just to get a feel for the game. Now what got me excited, The Witcher 3. I have replayed this game more times than should be possible on a huge range of consoles and I have never gotten bored of it. Playing it on the go will be great but I get that some people will just see this as another port. Fire Emblem: Three Houses looks alright but I'm not really into them games so I don't have much of an opinion on it. I think that Resident Evil 5 and 6 were some of the worst versions of the game so I'm not really too excited about that. Travis No More Heroes III looks alright too but I haven't liked the past games so I'll either not buy it or this is the one I'll join in on. I think it's best we just don't talk about Contra... It was a huge disappointment and it just puts the franchise to shame. The graphics look like it's on a PS1 and it just looks cheesy. DAEMON X MACHINA looks great but the one problem that arose from the trailer was the gameplay parts and the FPS during it. The game looked very laggy and hard to follow. I will probably not buy this at first until the developers make it stable. Panzer Dragoon is basically just silent How to Train Your Dragon... The game's intro looked absolutely amazing until it switched to the gameplay part which looked like the most boring thing I'd ever seen. Pokemon Sword + Shield looks ok but I just hope that it goes back to older pokemon ways. While Pokemon LG(P/E) was a breath of fresh air for the franchise and I personally enjoyed it, I know that many others didn't as the game missed key pokemon characteristics like the Random Encounters in the grass and more. While I hadn't heard of it until now, Astral Chain looks fairly good. It has a nice art style and the story/plot sounds pretty good from what the commentator said during the trailer. Empire of Sin is also another game I hadn't heard of and I thought it looked good. I'm not sure if the graphics are going to be like how it showed in the trailer or the bit at the end where all the models were white (could someone tell me?). Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order looks like a Lego game minus the art style. It looked fairly plain and boring, whilst also very laggy. Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer looks very good and I can't wait to play it tomorrow. The idea is unique and mixing it with a big and lovable game like Zelda was a step in the right direction. Mario and Sonic at the Olympics is meh. I used to play them games as a kid but I don't think I'd enjoy them much anymore but only time will tell. And now the big part, the part I was waiting for as well as everyone else. Animal Crossing. The game looks absolutely amazing and I could honestly play the older versions for hours on end so I am very excited for this one. The fact that the release date is later than they said is a bit disappointing but atleast the game will be perfected and not a buggy initial mess (cough Tennis Aces). Now for a quick scan over the games that didn't get the spotlight. Spyro will be great on the Switch. I've always loved it and it being portable will make me enjoy it more. Catan is one of my favorite board games so that coming onto the switch will be great.

That's my opinion. Let me know yours :)
