Yea console ban is for Nintendo to deny your specific switch entry to their online store and most all of their services. Although last I checked even when your console is banned you can download official updates from the Nintendo servers.
If your not planning to play online it's most likely you won't care as you have said. But I've been in the scene for almost a year now and I've seen Nintendo/developers slowly start to require games to have an online connection so if you get banned it may prevent you from playing SOME games in the future
idk if thats true cause if they did ban why would they let you download games and install updates like that makes sense if nintendo bans im sure you ban from updating games and go to there store....

Its not really shitty. Its fun if you pirates actually have the money to spend on games and a community to interact with. If you can afford a switch thats 300, pretty sure you can afford a game thats 60 or less. Emunand exist for one good reason only. Keeping all the homebrew separated from Sysnand to avoid potential ban 100% proof without the need of restoring nand backup every time.
