Hi everyone, I’m currently on 5.1 with sx os and thinking about upgrading to 6.2. I have a clean nand backup of 5.1. I suppose I would restore to that, then I upgrade to 6.2. I know sxos3 isn’t out yet, but I’d try out atmosphere in the meantime. Im not too worried about burning fuses as that seems to not matter anymore. Am I on the right path?

Yes, but fuses still somewhat matter. Sleep mode does not work, if you boot FW which requires fewer fuses than you currently have.
So choidujournx and autoRCM is still not a bad idea.
But that's probably not what you care about, so restoring clean nand and updating the official way is good enough.

i could see not burning fuses if i was on 4.1.0, but that ship has sailed for me. 5.1.0 is the lowest i can go now. id update legit, if i can. would it be best to update after a (clean 5.1.0) nand backup?

Yes. If you restore your clean nand backup, I don't see any problems with updating the official way.

Choidujournx is used to update your FW, not games.
how do i avoid battery dying issues after updating and being in autorcm. I believe i m to either just stay in sleep mode as the normal power off option really only boots you back into rcm mode. So to shutdown totally you need to use something like Hekate s power down option. Am I correct or does something like hekate s or any other cfws power down option not work well either? should I just stay in sleep mode forever, which I pretty much do anyway.

Hekate and power off or force shutdown from horizon or RCM. But you shouldn't charge it while off, because that would make it boot to RCM.

ah ok kinda makes sense, like how when autorcm is off, it just boots the system normally when you through it on the dock even if you powered down fully. So if i totally shut it down with hekate, i should just leave it off the dock completely and only charge it while playing docked or connected to charge wire or in sleep mode? is that correct?

With AutoRCM, you cannot charge the console on the dock unless its in sleep mode because it will turn back on. Charging it while its off is doable but not recommended as it may be in RCM and you wouldn't realize until its too late. But if you want to charge it while its off, power the Switch off correctly (meaning in RCM) after it is already hooked up to a power source via USB connection.

I'm having problems on my 5.1 Switch. I installed 6.2 on sysnand but 5.1 emunand now have broken sleep mode. Also the games on emunand says they're missing files and doesn't boot.
Edit: Nvm I fixed, had to update emunand too.
