Hello Team,

at this point I feel like crying as I don't know what to do :s I have a switch with hetake ReiNX which was in 5.0. Long story short, I was trying to open one of my games but I hit update by mistake and before I knew, it had officially donwloaded the firmware 6.1.0. I was scared at first that It would mess up my flash but something odd happened. All but one game stopped working. It shows the message "Could not start the software".

After reading a bit I was instructed to delete the whole file with the switch stock menu, use tinfoil to delete the "Common tickets" of any game I would like to "fix" so i could reinstal via nsp. I deleted, reinstalled, and then a message appears that read "checking whether this software can be played" and apparently it was using the internet, so I stopped it immediatelly.

I got a hint that it might have to do with something called "tickets" and "certificates", but I was not able to find any definitive answer whatsoever. I'm desperate and I don't know what else to do as I can't even instal new software without the same thing happening to those :s

any ideas on what to try?

Thanks! I was wondering, do I only need the files for reinx or should I download everything and cram it into the SD?

I've gone over this multiple times but it seems to still not be known very well by the community so I guess I'll explain it again.
6.x changes the way games are run. Specifically it has to do with the addition of nintendo online and more specifically the game sharing function it adds.
If your system isn't told its primary (which is done by connecting to eshop while on 6.x) then your system will assume it is a secondary system for your nintendo ID. Secondary systems require an internet connection to play the title because it has to ensure the primary system isn't playing it at the same time. Which is what that message you get when trying to load a game means.
Unfortunately, I don't know if there is a fix for it or why it seems to only affect certain consoles. It seems to me to only be a problem for people who keep their system completely offline as it never connects to online to become the primary.

Ok, that kind of makes sense, but does that mean that I have to login to the eshop and run the risk of getting perma-banned? should that solve the problem?

I believe it would, but I would wait to see if there are any other options first. Frankly I believe it's something the cfw devs should be looking into if they haven't already.

Guys, It turned out that it had to do with the user. I created a new user on the switch and it worked fine. Of course I lost all my progress in any game I was playing (which sucks :s) but at least I can resume.

Interesting. Was the previous one attached to a nintendo ID and the new one isn't? That may be the answer here.
