Homebrew Question Megadrive/Genesis and psx on Retroarch

Anyone had any trouble launching megadrive/genesis files? I scan the directory but once its scanned nothing happens?. Im using the .smd file format.

Also anyone know the file format PSX files should be? is it .bin

Not sure for RetroArch for Switch, but Lakka uses .bin and .cue files. I assume it's the same for RetroArch

i've got some Genesis games and they are smc files, and only few psx formats can be recognized: try to convert them in .ISO using imgburn.

edit: as far as i remember also both .ccd and .cue psx games are compatible on retroarch.

yeah the are all smd? just won't load the games at all and all the other rooms I've loaded (snes,gb,gba,nes,mastersystem) have loaded fine

i think there's also a option to scan and add a single file to library, try to add gen games one by one.

Just use load content instead of scanning, loading the correct core before also has fixed a few oddities for me.

That seems to work! Thanks! Shame they won’t load like the rest but this is just fine!

Somes rom have that issue and is not only for Genesis. For example my romset of the UMK3 Arcade is detected that FBalpha should run it.. When it should be run using mame... SO i had to manually load it...
