With pkmn crytal it wont remember it save file, gotta restart the game everytime i re open the game. is this intended for now or am i doing something wrong?
Hit close content from the quick menu and quit RetroArch from the main menu when you're done playing. Otherwise your progress won't be saved.

How do i go back to the menu? when i use the home button it goes straight back to horizon.
Ah that's the problem. Never do this if you want to save things.
You access the menu by pressing L3+R3.
That's the both analog sticks pressed in at the same time.

Edit: Some people seem to have other (older?) configs. Then it might be PLUS+MINUS.

Note that on the latest nightly, you don't have to do this to save.
Now, I can press home button right after saving without losing any progress :toot:

Thanks! that worked :) out of all the button combinations i tried before i didnt try L3/R3 so i assumed the home button was the only way to close out.

Not sure if this is a lie or not.
On the Wii U I could kill RetroArch any time and saves won't be lost. Only the RetroArch config (if I changed video settings or stuff like that) would have been gone if RetroArch hasn't been quit right.

Sorry to be a pain with more questions, but ate you using a particular version of the game or BIOS? Because I'm just getting a black screen
Sometimes freezes when trying to start a game, just keep trying.
Asumming you have the bios in the right place.

Don't tell lies.

Nope, no lie. Just try it.
I'm not telling it works for every cores, but right now, I'm playing Oracle of Ages through Gambatte, and i'm doing this all the time ;)

And for testing purpose, I just tried with the latest stable (from 07/21 iirc) : it doesn't work.
