My honest opinion...for what it's worth
Verizon is the best carrier as far as making calls are concerned. You pay a premium for just their service alone, but it is well worth it and I can usually always take/make calls. But don't get me started on how much they butcher their Handsets to milk you for all the money you have (Ringtones, Ringback, VZCast etc.)

Sprint, I think is the cheapest, which also means they are one of the worst services...Yeah, I like the logic in that...

Umm other than that, all over ones are pretty much on par.

BTW, AT&T and Cingular are the same now...AT&T

If by "carrier" you mean "network provider" then I'm on 02. I have al sorts of sim cards though (02, orange, t-mobile, virgin, etc.)

Don't get me started on these phone-branding, contract-locking, $2 a ringtone charging buttheads. My work pays for the service on my Blackberry and its a good thing because I wouldn't give two shits for U.S. mobile service. Asia is light years ahead of the U.S. and they even have TV tuners on their phones because they don't have dirty monopolies and a do-nothing-FCC that takes taxpayer money to sit around and not do shit. Big business is stifling competition here without question, the greedy bastards. And even net neutrality is off the table now. God forbid.
