To be really honest, there is very little difference from standard to Pro anyway. I have a pro but have watched countless videos where the minor (if any difference) isn't really that groundbreaking. Digital Foundry have done several, one even showing the difference using boost mode and again barely any difference. That said, it's always nice to keep current with game updates, but there are several I have completed that have looked amazing and have gone on to receive countless updates after I've completed them.
What you also need to bear in mind is that many of the Pro features are included as standard on the disc. The Last Of Us had separate modes already included as they have to consider that some people may have no access to the internet or poor speeds etc. In my experience, updates add very little. Put it this way, I haven't completed any games and endured any issues that I have later thought "Ah! Maybe I should now revisit it given that they've released this update". Also super-sampling is really only for 1080P resolutions and even then it's only really noticeable when the hardware is powerful. There have been many discussions regarding using it on a games console as a little pointless, but time will tell.
