lol. Mine dock is ok, but switch is bending. If you look at that Reddit post and read some comments, you will found out that more people have this problem.

No, but I'm still concerned that it could happen, and I've been consequently looking at it daily. Thing is I play it a lot, both docked and on the go, so I can't really tell what causes the warping. People say overheating from playing it too much, but I mean I typically play it a few hours daily and while its gotten warm to the touch before, I've not yet seen any warping. My theory is that it may be a combination of overheating and then quickly bringing it into a much colder environment. Consequently I'm just doing my best not to bring the Switch into cold environments, which is pretty easy at the moment given that Spring is finally in full swing. But come next Winter, I'll be sure to never keep it by the window, or right next to the AC in the summer.

People do know this is a handheld and if you apply force on it it will bend. plastic tends to crack while metal will keep the bend. There is no way the switch is getting hot enough to do this on its own. It has to be user error.

Mine has not bent under normal usage.
I won't try jumping on it or putting it into the oven, but I strongly believe it will break or melt before it bent.

I do wonder sometimes with all these hardware reports if some people are just being abusive to their hardware. First, the question is wrong. "Does it bend." Yes, it will bend if you bend it.

And I think this video is pretty telling. It's pretty straight until the guy starts actually applying pressure. Then it bends and I noticed it actually stayed bent after he did this. What this tells me is that if something makes it bend in the first place, then it's probably going to stay that way unless you bend it back into shape (not sure how safe that actually is though, but at least when he bent again in the other direction nothing snapped. Namely I think there's a limit on how many times it can be flexed before something really does break.) I've noticed a lot of the pictures show them bending the same way too. I'm not sure how thick the frame inside is, but it likely just serves to help hold it in place once bent.

So here's the real question: are the systems bending "on their own" or are people bending them? If you're gripping the sides pretty hard it's probably absolutely possible to push inward somewhat along the way. For example, some people get pretty excited when gaming and can get pretty careless, even exerting way too much force on controllers and such. No big deal with a separate full blown thick plastic controller, but with thin JoyCons attached to the sides of the system it may be a problem just waiting to happen.

It goes without saying, but if people are throwing their Switches into bags and setting stuff on top of them, that would definitely cause them to bend. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and assuming that the people reporting this aren't doing that and conveniently forgetting though. However, it would not even surprise me a little if a few of the people who say theirs bent actually have done this...

Anyway, in short, this is not a little tiny 3DS. Something of this size is going to be much more vulnerable to stresses like bending. It's kind of like people bending the iPhones 6s. They didn't bend on their own, but given enough pressure they would bend and stay that way due to the metal of the casing.

So, to answer the question, "does it bend," obviously yes because how could it not? The real question is: does it bend on its own? This is where I have serious doubts. I can definitely say mine is still perfectly straight. I can also say that I'm not one of those gamers who gets really excited and exerts a lot of pressure on controllers and even when I'm tapping on the screen in Voez I tap pretty lightly.

It's like the Switch was made to be a short term product like a cell phone. Waiting to be traded in or thrown in the recycle bin after 3-4 years. Nintendo Hardware truly hasn't been the same since Mr. Iwata passed away, may he rest in peace.

I've been playing my switch exclusively in a dock with a little microfiber sleeve i made for the dock to protect my screen since I got it 2 weeks ago. I play it on average 8 to 10 hours a day every single day mostly breath of the wild. My room is not hot but not cold either nice medium temperature. Yesterday I started reading about people saying there switches are bending and after checking mine it's as straight as a ruler. I have no idea how some folks's switches are bending but It doesn't seem to be like a wide spread issue. Kind of like the left joycon sync issues. I never had any of that either. Anyway I just wanted to report in that even with the added cloth sleeve I made my switch isn't over heating and warping or bending of any kind. What ever the cause if we ever find out exactly why it's happening I wish you all luck and hope it doesn't happen to yours.

Slightly on mine. Would've never noticed before all of this became a thing. Lays completely flat on its screen, but on its back, if you press down on the left side it doesn't necessarily wobble...but it makes some sort of noise

Got mine at day one, and have about 80-85 hours on it. If I had to guess maybe 70 hours docked, the rest in the portable mode

I say this about the bending if it ever happens to me. I never go anywhere to ever take it with me so it's going to live in that dock. How ever if it does bend but it still works fine I don't see any real reason to be concerned a whole lot tho if it got worse then wed have a problem. That's just how I feel about it.

I played mine in the dock a lot.
I also move it a lot and use it as portable.
Not bent at all.
I suppose of you got a bad one it is bent already. In the other hand if you got a good one it will just not bend.
Factory defect.

I've been told inside the switch is a really sturdy plate of metal underneath the outside plastic, and that alone comforts me I guess

I'm not even bothered with this bend anyways. What's there to be worried about when you have a warranty. Works fine, fits in my dock fine, perfectly functioning Swich as far as I'm concerned

mmhmm. And since I'm using my switch like a dedicated console I don't see any reason to take it out of the dock.

I can definitly say, mine is bent after being only in dock. And yes, I am talking about it self bending.
BTW: very good word play.
Well, should'nt you be contacting Nintendo customer service, instead of making a poll on an underground gaming forum?
Mine has been on basicly 24/7 with a family of 3 gamers, no bending, dude. would'nt even bend if put
Looking at how the switch is contructed, it will not even bend if put on fire.
If what you say is true, maybe you should take a good hard look your family members, maybe they did "bend" the truth a bit for you?

Doyou need some confirmation to contact Nintendo, or insurance?
No dice as of now.
