Refurbished is what we call idiots who return a product because they don't know how to use it. If one was sent in damaged, from the current complaints? I doubt they would have got it fixed. The console has been out a month. They probably don't actually fix them at United Radio. But hey, regardless, no bends, no bubbles, no problems.

Mine are VERY slightly bent near the edges. Like if I were to lay it flat 95% of the switch will be touching the surface. Everything still works fine. I play handheld mode like 90% of the time.

The somewhat surprising number of bending issues, even the absolutely minor ones, is a bit unsettling. I hope Nintendo doesn't annihilate what little faith I have in them now.

That leads me to believe its from you using it handheld. Perhaps you are pressing down on the ends while playing?

Not sure what you are trying to say. Only Nintendo can transfer your files to your refurbished Switch, what does UR have to do with anything?

So the bend thingy is actually real and there are already a lot of people with that problem (despite it being minor cases)...

oh gash, nintendo what happened to you? seriously...

Because UR is where you send the console for repair? Have you done an RMA? It goes to United Radio in NY, not Nintendo.

Nah I've only seen 5 people on tech forums whining about it.

Yea, my phone regularly hits 72c when backuping up with TWRP when the switch only hits 40c or so.. Phone is a lot smaller and also made of plastic. Which leads me to believe that the #bendgate is not due to heat like everyone seems to think.

That's actually a really good point, but it really shouldn't be going over 60 or so in TWRP... That is very excessive and probably not good for the SoC at all (and definitely really really bad for the battery.)

That's Canada, not United States. Our stuff goes to United Radio.

It's not excessive at all otherwise the thermal protection would trip. The Snapdragon 805 is good until 85c. Did you not know that SoC chips can throttle themselves?

My battery is 2 years old still going strong.

Maybe do some research yo.

Maybe the attitude is inappropriate and unnecessary? That was more of a concern that it could impact your hardware and I'm sorry I cared. High temperatures aren't good for batteries (any kind really.) I'm talking about long term lifetime. But, whatever. If you're lucky enough to not have significant reduction in capacity so be it.

I don't hold it with any excessive force when I play or when I transport it. The way it feels doesn't inspire any confidence in me, so I've been pretty careful with it. The fact is, until I read some of these threads and reports, I would've never noticed the slight bend as I never lay the switch flat on a surface. It's either in the dock, in my hands, or in my carrying case. Maybe the warp was from the pressure and heat of my hands? That's seems pretty far-fetched. I've seen quite a large number of people who report such minuscule minor bends like mine, so I'm starting it possibly came like that, or is defective as whole, least on the sides of the switch.

Oh man, if you're butthurt already you got no chance here LOL.

Seriously though, do some research before making comments like that and you'll be fine.

I've done plenty of research on most battery types (ok, not so much on nickle cadmium except insofar as knowing it has the so called "memory effect") as well as have been working with electronics including computers for ages including being no stranger to things like overclocking and messing with voltages as well as dealing with temperatures and cooling systems. I simply think that reacting immediately with insults and hate towards someone showing concern towards your hardware is a bit excessive and questionable. And if this sort of attitude were this common I assure you I wouldn't be here.

Well you obviously knew nothing of the 805 so. Just told you to do some research and maybe learn something. Now you are trolling me accusing me of things that never happened. Maybe you will fit in here after all. Sorry I've learned not to feed the trolls on here. Plus this is getting way off topic.

Peace out.
