Should I try the unbanning method, or just wait it out? I realy don't use online much, but I'd like to have the ability
This is what I'm worried about... I didn't use any online features, but maybe if I go online on the 18th, Nintendo will still ban me if they have a way of knowing I have the leaked version installed.
Can I back-up my save file, uninstall the .cia, redownload on the 18th, install and restore the save file?? Or am I screwed either way? I don't even play online (competitively) but I do need to gts a drampa for my Sun playthru.

I'd wait. We still have NO CLUE what side-effects this "unbanning" method may or may not have. Only do this if you're impatient and don't care about the risks.
Back up your save maybe two times just name it diff not the main but the file before hand and you should be fine once you delete
Just wait it out I say. All the risks and uncertainty of the unban methods so far (not to mention needing to basically shove your ban onto another system) aren't worth it when the problem will likely just go away on its own.
This might seem like a dick move but you could buy a new 3ds that was on version 10.6 and under and get CFW and A9LH. And you can inject all the clean files in the hacked 3ds and the hacked files back into the newly bought 3ds. You can then remove A9LH with decypt9 and return the 3ds for your money back. As i said before, this would be a dick move to the person why buys the returned 3ds.
I'll wait and report back after two weeks haha!
Would it be a good idea to (once the game comes out) get a different dump of it?
And so 102 is not usually perma?
