I got this and LOVE it. It is a set of replacement rechargeable batteries for the Wiimote. It comes with 2 rechargeable battery packs for 2 Wiimotes and cost $30. The unit also comes with 2 battery replacement covers for the battery compartment and they have a rubber grip on them that is super nice. Here is the complete feature list:

  • Charge 2 Wii remotes simultaneously
Includes 2 rechargeable NiMH battery packs
    LED Charge Indicator lights
    Dual port rapid recharging dock
    6 foot power cable
Rubberized battery covers for superior gaming performance
The only 2 small draw backs is 1: it's not usb so you have to plug it into a wall socket instead of one of the Wii's usb ports. 2: The Wiimote's strap makes it where u have to position the Wimote on the charge exactly or else the strap will get in the way and prevent the batteries from making contact with the charger. It's not too big of a deal, you just can't drop the Wiimote in carelessly, you have to position them in there. The rubber grip on the battery cover is so good I just took the wrist strap's off the Wiimote's altogether and it sits in there with zero effort. There are also leds on the front that tell you when the unit is charging and when the Wiimote is fully charged.

I can't tell you how nice it is to have a rechargeable Wiimote and not have to go through a ton of batteries each month. I can't believe Nintendo did not make this a standard for the Wiimote or at least market their own version to sell.

According to Nyko's site you can get them at Wal-Mart, Target, BestBuy, Amazon.com, GameStop, EB Games, but I couldn't find one locally so I just ordered from Nyko's online store.

Yeah, I have to agree with H8TR. Also do you know of the price of the set and how much extra rechargeable Nyko batteries cost?

Doh! Apologize for not puting in the price (fixed it now), but it cost $30. As far as I know they don't sell just the batteries, you have to get the whole kit. You can however buy just the rubber griped battery covers.

I really need to get one of these or something similar, I'm getting so sick of having to put new batteries in my Wiimotes everytime I go to play!!

I swear my Wiimotes sit there flashing for days and then when I go to play they are flat again.

Do you have a source for the price (EB/Gamestop I assume)? Saw on Fry's http://shop1.outpost.com/product/5111446;j...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG, ~$25 with shipping probably extra. I haven't checked at the store though.
How griptastic are the covers and are they worth getting for the price? For just a little more greenbacks, you could get another game or remote, and for about the same price you could get a nunchuck.
In Colbert terms, is this a "Tip of the Hat" or a "Wag of the Finger"?

-Bears: always first in my threatdown.

Personally I love this. the rubber grips are nice and really make a difference in the feel of the remote.

I have officially put AA batteries "On Notice"!

$30 in the USA this will probably cost £30 when released in the UK, double the price. This does look a good idea, but why they never used usb to do it I don't know. I wonder if you could somehow use a lead instead to recharge from the usb, just like you would with the xbox 360. You could even play the game on the wiimote while its recharging just as long as your not playing a game which involves swinging the wiimote round like an idiot.

To me, a set of standard rechargeable AA batteries are cheaper, and more useful. They can power your Wii remotes or anything around the house using AA batteries. $10 for a charger, $10 for a pack of four batteries. That gives you two for the controller, and two for backup.
