Hacking Real Cart to R4 Save

How do I get save files from my original cartridge converted for use on the R4?
I know it may have been explained before, but I'm a bit confused

Real carts use RAW saves so just set your conversion software to think the input is EZFlash/supercard/g6 and the output to R4.

But how do I obtain it in the first place? I'm a bit confused with all the RAINs and the REINs and the REINMoons etc .What exactly is REIN?

rein/rain are the same app (albeit different incarnations of it) with reinmoon being another authors attempt at it. They grab saves from original DS carts and save them to GBA slot devices.
