This subject needs dropping now I think. Aroth has unfortunately updated to 5.5.1, as it stands he still has access to the exploit when it is released. For whatever reason TubeHax didn't work for him. There is no use speculating to the reason why nor is there any point in repeating the same tired sentences over and over again.

I agree with u. I just started to reply only to find the reason it got updated to help others not to do the same and got carried away with the disccusion.

Okay. How are you communicating with us if you don't have a computer, or a phone?
Are you using the crappy web browser of the Wii U?

Because if you do it from a computer, just install a wamp, its a useful piece of software that will give you everything you need to turn your computer into a webserver, for $0. You don't need a spare computer, just "a" computer.

If you do it from your Wii U... Then I strongly suggest that your priority from now on is to get a computer.

I have enough problems with my phone without trying to use it as a webserver, so that isn't going to happen. My primary computer is a laptop and doesn't always stay on and in the same house (or even on the same network) as my wii u. My desktop is only used for gaming and while I could use it as a webserver, that wasn't the point of my issue. Its not that I personally don't have those things, but that those things are not things that you can assume EVERYONE has. And even if I was to use my desktop as the webserver, it doesnt always stay on the same network as my wii u.

That's getting borring i off this talk. Best of luck to you.

So hykem is also making a 5.5.1 exploit? But I play splatoon and I need to update that but before I can do that I must update my wii u to 5.5.1 shall I update ?

my wiiu is ONLY set to connect if my laptop is tethering for it... but without any news on 5.5.0 hacks it sits and collects dust, i want to play my disk games but i feel that is even a risk.

I keep my Wii U unplugged when I am not playing it. Plus I have my Wii U internet connections deleted EXCEPT for one. That only connects when I turn on data tethering with my phone (since I have unlimited data with Sprint). I rarely even play my Wii U (or any game console) here lately anyway. When I know something big like this is coming, I don't touch my systems. The downside is, the weather in my area is crap.....23 degrees (F) and snowy. So odds are, I won't be getting out of the house today and i'll be BORED. Guess it'll be a good time to find something good to watch on NetFlix while refreshing this page, etc...

Recommended stay on 5.5.0.
on 5.5.1 may have a problem with the work IOSU.

DON'T UPDATE. How hard is that to understand?

Its not hard to understand. What seems to be hard to understand is that the WiiU updates automatically and without user input or confirmation if it has an internet connection at all. It does not need automatic downloads or standby or anything like that enabled. If the system is on and has internet and the urls are not blocked in some way it WILL update automatically

I thought we're safe under tubehax DNS? Can someone confirm that the system will update regardless? I deleted all my network connections on the Wii U while waiting for the news, but would be nice if I can go online to play some games (Mario Maker, Splatoon etc).

yeah, some people had their consoles updated even with tubehax DNS set from the beginning.
