Hacking Sky3DS and game patch/updates help :/

Hi all,

N3DS XL version 9.4

Just got my Sky3ds in the mail. I've added my private header from Animal crossing New Leaf to my Pokemon AS and SSB ROMs. When putting my Sky3ds card and the ROM loads up, it asks me to update the software to play online. I don't want to change my 9.4 fw (in anticipation of ninjahax 2.0) so I can't access the eShop to download, and anything else tells me I need a system update before I can do this.

Is there any way to bypass and install the update for Pokemon etc?

Not on 9.4
fyi Ninjhax2.0 will work with 9.8

So I should just go ahead and update? Will I still be safe to install gam updates using Sky3ds if I update the official way?

but remember the card type should be the same with header..
