It should be considered a sin that no one mentioned any of the Fire Emblem games yet.

I agree with the repeated themes in everyone's lists ... but just as an aside ... its a damned shame we didn't get western releases of F-Zero Climax or the Famicom Mini version of Super Mario Bros. 2 (the real SMB2). I'm not sure I'd put them in my top 10 list (10 is a pretty short list to try to make for GBA), but it sucks that the world outside Japan didn't get them. Fortunately, there are flashcarts.

here are my favourites in no particular order...

01) rpg . final fantasy tactics_ advance (it'll last forever if you're a perfectionist like me)
02) adv . zelda_ the minish cap (i fell in love with this game)
03) act . megaman zero_ 1, 2, 3 & 4 (closest you'll get to the classic megaman games... but with a nice kick)
04) rpg . golden sun_ 1 & 2 (i don't think i have to explain)
05) act/rpg . summon night_ sword craft story (there's part 2, haven't tried, though)
06) pzl . polarium_ advance (great morning starter)
07) ??? . bit generations_ all 7 (quick, short bursts of fun)
08) rpg . riviera_ a promised land (great graphics & music)
09) act . metroid_ fusion & zero mission (sorta like a sci-fi tv series)
10) nes . classic nes_ super mario bros (hahahahahaha)

)

Note that I group series, and I do not include SNES ports... (those belong in my top SNES list)

1. Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
2. Zelda The Minish Cap
3. Fire Emblem (6-8)
4. Pokemon (Emerald, Fire Red/Leaf Green)
5. Metroid (Fusion, Zero Mission)
6. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
7. Advance Wars (1-2)
8. Astro Boy
9. Golden Sun (1-2)
10. Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga

There you have the definitive list in pefect order! Feel the enlightenment!

edit: I'm waiting on the english translation of Mother3, which may also be a contender.

I think we can all agree, if you have any way to play GameBoyAdvance games and you don't at least try Golden Sun, you're a fool

.

Speaking of Golden Sun, can it be played in VBA without issues? How does GBA cope with the sunlight thing?

You're thinking of Boktai. Golden sun works just find in VBA.

given you have the cracked version (where you can adjust the sunlight with a couple of pushes of a combination
