Hey there, GBAtemp! Did you miss me? Well, you're going to be missing me a lot more come this Saturday. Anyway, we have another review contest! This time, you'll be reviewing any game that fits the theme of Halloween! The review doesn't need to be Halloween themed, but the game should sufficiently be. I'm not going to reign that in any further than I have already, because I want to see how you interpret the theme as well, but if you have any doubts about whether or not it's acceptable, shoot me a PM. The best three reviews as judged by yours truly will win the prizes. Remember, the reviews section is in that tab up there at the top of the page. That's where you will be writing your reviews.

What are you reviewing for? Because I said so! Now write, my monkeys, write! Bwaaaaahahahahahaha! ...no? Alright, alright, how about my unwavering appreciation and admiration? Still nothing, huh? Well, what if I were to say that the top 3 reviews get their choice of one video game of their choice for any current gen console? (Yes, that includes Wii U. Deal with it.) Get your attention, did I? Good. Now make me proud!

Rules

1. All reviews must be Halloween themed. I'll leave it at that, but I have the right to refuse a review if I feel that the theme isn't followed quite enough.

2. When you write the review, link to it in a post in this thread along with: The game title, what platform it was on, or in the case of a multi-console release, please state which version you are reviewing.

3. The reviews must be in your own words. Don't just look up a review and switch some words around. You must review the game, and write the review yourself.

4. Grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and paragraph structure isn't everything, but it will count in my judgement. Dont rite lyk dis and think u hav a chans at winning

5. Images/screenshots are not only allowed, but encouraged!

6. All entries must be submitted by Thursday, October 31, at 11:59 PM PST.

7. One entry per person per IP address. If you make more than one review, you have to choose which one to submit for the contest.

BONUS!

Have you tried making your own Streetpass relay at home? Go ahead and give it a try. If you streetpass ME, follow the URL in my greeting message, and PM me the secret message found there, and you'll be entered in a raffle to win a prize. What's the prize? That's a surprise! My Mii is named Twinretro, has the pixel mario hat on, and has a rather dashing beard. Note: I will always be using the main/general MAC address.

Hmmm... I might do a Disgaea game myself. I don't know which one. Goodbye, Pedeadstrian. :) I'm thinking Dark Hero Days for the PSP though, so you're lucky.

Can I surprise people if I do one or do I have to post the name of the game right now? I've seen lots of people doing this on here already.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

Waiting for Anbernic's rg[whatever]SP price announcement, gimme.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.
  • Veho @ Veho:
    I dread the price point.

  • Veho @ Veho:
This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
