Cartoon Network doesn't carry lots of japanese show because they are american! They rather make their own shows than license expensive foreign shows. Cartoon Network has a animation School in Argentina so I guess it's a better way to produce new content rather than import (mostly mediocre japanese with copy each other). Look at the powerpuff puff girl japanese edition, t's nothing compared with the original one, and guess which one is more expensive??

The japanese wannabe is FOX, but cheaper since most shows are donde in Korea and China, and THERE'S A BIG DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY. Also most of their shows are into the "collect something and use it against your enemies!" kind of marketing with cards and tons of toys, which are ok if the first product is good, unlike "Beyblade" and lots of others...

I guess I rather watch Transformers and Thundercats, for my toy filled animations...

whoa someone sound a bit bitter.

CN use to show plenty of japanimation cartoons. It was every friday, instead of showing DBZ, they would air english-over-dubbed japanimation movies... it was cool. And then on sunday evenings (before Adult Swim came around), CN would air overdubbed fanimation episodes of shows such as Robotech (mid-1980s).

I thought it was alright man, i didnt know what to think at first but once you get into the combos it's not all that bad.

It's a side scrolling beat em up with a couple of mini games included. You go round smacking up cartoon characters with a gibson flying v, picking up money as you go to buy new guitars and costumes.

Throughout each stage are the ingredients to make a sushi roll. The roll is prepared after each boss and uses the stylus to cut up the ingredeints Cooking Mama style. Once the Roll is prepared you get to choose if ami or yumi eats it. Ermm thats about it really.

EDIT: i just finished it, didnt take that long really. I give it 7 out of 10

The tunes in this game are pretty awesome man, never watched the cartoon myself. I'll tell you something though, these bitches are famous for their music in Japan and not these animations you guys are talking about. Some of their tunes are excellent, the older stuff sounds like a Japanese beatles

Just played the game tonight and just like the cartoon, it's poorly produced!

Most action in the game is the now tired Golden Axe and Streets of Rage "scroll right until you have to beat someone up." (Don't get me wrong any Golden Axe or Streets fans - I love 'em!!!)
The game also makes poor use of the touch screen which is used to execute these boring combos by plucking or strumming guitar strings. I'd rather bash some buttons to kick ass then use this feature. It's the only reason it's on the DS!

And as far as you guys have said about Cartoon Network and this Americanized Japanese animation, it shows in this game, as this game is possibly (next to the new Breakout cone!!) the worst DS game I've played.

- Just a side point, does anyone remember the "Mysterious Cities of Gold" - A classic anime that I would love to see in a game - Where hopefully it would have some credibility compared to this poor development of the Puffy Ami Yumi franchise.

Peace

would love to see a game based off that series as much as the next man, but i seriously doubt that will ever happen.

As for the combos in Puffy you can just use the buttons, you dont need to use the touch screen ever
