I have an early Wii that can load GC games from DVD-r. Will audio streaming work from a backup DVD loaded through neogamma? Can't seem to find an answer with the search and I wanted to be environmentally friendly and ask before I waste a disk.

Thanks

Neogamma plays GC audio streaming discs, but mutes the streamed audio (dialog/background music, etc...). The only current method to properly play backup audio streaming games is to use a modchip, and only a few modchips work correctly. If your Wii has a DMS/D2A/D2B drive, then I would suggest installing YAOSM 3.2, as I know from personal experience that it works perfectly with audio streaming games. Others have reported that, with the right firmware, Wiikey v1 also supports GC audio streaming. I have tried the Wiizard and Wiikey 2 with D2C2 and D2E drives and found that GC audio streaming was broken on both of them; audio streaming on these chips did not work correctly with D2B either. At some point in the future, hopefully, there will be a new USB loader called Devolution which promises to support audio streaming from hard disc.

audio streaming works fine with my D2Ckey - In short you need a proper drive chip afaik none of the solderless flat mods (ffc mods) support audio streams

Thanks. That's the first report I've read of a chip that works properly with D2C (never mind how much of a beast that chip is to install!). Up until this point, the only chips I have found that seem to work properly have all used the "top secret serial port" which only exists on DMS/D2A/D2B drives.

Have you tried Eternal Darkness? With a retail disc, and if audio streaming is working correctly on a backup, the intro poem audio will play once before the game menu is displayed. Wiikey 2 and Wiizard both play the intro poem, but get stuck in an infinite loop repeating the audio segment. I have also encountered the repeating audio issue when playing Star Fox Adventures - when you enter into dialog with one of the characters the audio stream gets stuck in a loop. In another recent thread, it was found that Wasabi Zero has the same problem. YAOSM 3.2 works just like a retail disc. So, what I'm suggesting is that some Wii modchips sort of support audio streaming, in that they play streamed audio, but they do not do so correctly.

It would be helpful to compile a list which shows GC audio streaming support for various modchips - 100% working/broken/no support.
