footage was real time footage of the game being played by the staff
The Iwata Asks column was focused on Monster Hunter 3G, which Fujioka is directing. However, towards the end, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata asked a few questions about MH4.
Regarding the September video, Iwata noted that many were wondering how Capcom would be able to make the scenes shown in the video playable. While Fujioka did not share any gameplay specifics about 4, he replied that the footage was real time footage of the game being played by the staff

It's obviously a pre-alpha version and it might be really good, can't wait to see more.
I don't really like MH but this one seems to be different, but I guess people are always afraid of new things.

Woah... If I can actually do most of those things in 4.... Well, I'll easily put it at least 100 hours just climbing around like an idiot.

Also, I pretty sure that Hunters thoughts the whole time were, "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!"

I really loved this shit, when it was aired on E3. It's not that different from MHTriG (graphically), but it's still very cool.

I'm not surprised. Capcom has already shown their mastery over the 3DS's graphical capabilities with Revelations and SSFIV 3D. If this is how Monster Hunter 4 looks (considering it's still in development), I'll be pretty pleased.

Just curious, any mention of multiplayer yet?
Trying to troll or trying to be cool?

Or never played the series before and might start with this?

But what are the odds of that?...xD
Seriously even douchebags know that it sells becasue of the multiplayer. He said any mention of multiplayer yet?, meaning he knew the other series had multiplayer. Nobody writes that if they did not know if it had multiplayer or not. They write more like does this game have multiplayer feature. Whic it obviously will have.

Maybe he wanted to say "online multiplayer". It's the logical step to make this series more popular in west too (and by all means, it's not).

Sad people like me will play monster hunter in a coffee shop alone while cursing the people that have friends to play it with.
