In my own opinion, I think the Rev looks AWSOME. It looks very sleek, and far nicer then the 360 and the PS3. If Nintendo puts the right kinda game backing into this (theres really just too much downtime between good Nintendo games) it could be a humongous success, I say!

Wow...

I never realised how cool the pad would be, it looks like a DVD player remote, but turn it on its side and BAM its a controller, dunno what the other little buttons are for though, one looks a bit like an analogue stick...

*Raises hand* Question: wouldn't that mean that up, down, left and right would be the wrong way around? Or is it designed to be used on it's side?

I thought it was gonna have wireless controllers? Pics at gamespot show the controller(s) with wires?

Anyway, looks neat. I don't like the power button on the one controller because you might press it if you turn it on it's side (if it can be used like an old school controller), maybe the power button gets disabled during gameplay or maybe I'm way off. Some of the buttons do look awkward though... come on really... playing with a mouse type device and tv remote....

6 Buttons - A, B, b, c, z1 and z2.

z1 and z2 are on the 'analogue controller', A, b and c are on the top of the main controller and the B is on the bottom of the main controller. Pretty damn nice.

This controller effing rocks. I can't wait to get one. I am SOLD! Ess Oh Ell Dee SOLD!

Too many topics on this... read the others here and here.

Personally I think it's a great design, looks like it could have many uses (check out the reports on the tech demos, official video and an article IGN did on the possibilities of the controller/remote). The device seems like it'd be effective in most genres... the gameplay aspects may need change to change quite a lot as a result in a few genres (especially sports games) but most others it'd adapt to very well (FPS, RTS, Action/Adventure etc..). Also remember the Revolution takes standard wired and wireless GC controllers and most developers will probably include support for them... of course we have a few reluctant gamers out there so this way there's something to suit everyone.

The only thing I think Nintendo should change is add 'x' and 'y' buttons to the bottom of the remote, preferably on a rotateable axis (for the different NES and SNES button layouts) along with L+R buttons on the right hand side so the controller could handle a SNES setup and become more useful as a remote. If Nintendo added another 2 buttons and a way to attach the anologue stick device to the center left hand side of the remote the controller could also be used for N64 titles. It'd be pretty cool but Shigsy doesn't want a complicated controller with many buttons so the possibility of this happening can just go out the window...

So yeah all in all it looks like a great controller... not too keen on the apple/ipod inspiration (thank god they plan to release it in other colours), but the application and uses look really interesting. I was sold on the Reolution even before they unveiled the machine but it's good to finally have some reassurance that Nintendo won't disappoint.

It shall be possible to stick it into a shell that gives us more buttons if needed (think the remote as the VMU and the shell as the Dreamcast controller), and making it easier to play classic games (and probably some 3rd party games).

I find the Revolution's design the most apealing, it has a very slick design and the colour's look cool. The controller's design was a bit weird at first, but then I saw the video and what we could do with it. I think that the only "problem" will be that it might be a bit too hard to play hours and hours, holding up the controller and doing stuff...

(The PS3's controller might have the same functions of the Revolution's one, you throw the boomerang and it comes back, and then you see it in-game ^^)
