I still recommend anybody with troubles check the bu report section on akaio.net, as it seems they changed some things and could us proper debugging and feedback.

Upgraded on a Kingston 4GB SDHC (Taiwan), with a 1.48ms random access time.
Before, I got black screens with Golden Sun, 999 and Sonic Colors... now on 1.8.5a, all three are booting. Thanks, AKAIO team!

Sorry to be a noob but how do you uograde 1.8.5 to 1.8.5a........the latter aio file has only the loaders and a new a4kmenu. Is it just a case of using the latter loaders and the latter a4k menu files.

I still have an AceKard 2 with an older version of AKAIO. What I want to know is if I can just take what I have (FILES AND ALL) and just put it in the AceKard 2i. Would it work or not? From what I've found, it should.8BitWalugi said:

Yes. The AIO part of AKAIO stands for All-In-One, the Acekard 2.1 & 2i use the same AKAIO revision, there isn't a difference. However I believe the Original Acekard 2 was dropped support a while back.Team Fail said:

I'm having trouble with the AKAIO updates and Golden Sun...
The thing is, with AKAIO 1.8.5, even if I'm activating the Anti-Piracy Patch the game never loads. It's always stuck on a loading...(in yellow). And I could un GBA games.
I had an old backup of my card, on AKAio 1.8.1. So I used it, and guess what, everything worked great. Golden Sun launch well. The only problem is that I can't load any GBA games...
So, I formatted my SD card, reloaded AKAIO 1.8.5, and now, nothing works. No Golden Sun, no GBA Games....
Can someone clarify all this for me please!!

SD cards are getting cheaper and cheaper and that's not only the price I'm talking about.
I have two Acekard 2i's with 2GB Sandisks (dunno make or model or anything about them except I bought them from Office Depot directly one day in 2009)
Both are heavily used with many many games, and Path of Destruction was just put on one and used perfectly with the latest loaders (uploading those now.. go Norm).
So yeah, keep trying, keep shining, and you may have to get a diff microSd.

yeah basically we couldn't do online loader updates for a while because the core of AKAIO kept changing (the non-wifi updatable parts).
but it's looking like some stuff is contained better now so figured "why not release something"

I've just updated my AKAIO to 1.8.5(a), and everything (including Ghost Trick) seems to be working well. I'll test it a bit more throughly later on.

Fromatted my miniSD card with Panasonic Formatter, installed AKAIO 1.8.5(a) and now everythings working, GBA games AND Golden Sun/Kingdom Hearts Re-coded!

SOME games are not working (Dragon Quest IX, Golden Sun,999), not all of them.
