Wondering how to get PAL version of Sniper Elite to play on NTSC wii under wiiflow. I get black screen no matter what settings I've tried. If anyone has gotten this to work, please let me know. My kids are killin me about this one.

I don't know why that is, it's just a fact.schroder08 said:mugotu said:249,250 is tons faster than 222,223,224 in wiiflow. This is because there are various parts of code that have to sleep to allow hermes based ios's enough time to load certain modules. Also, while we are on the speed subject, *.wbfs also runs faster than *.iso.schroder08 said:Why do you prefer the 249 version of wiiflow over the 224 then? Just curious.
Now, I will def. point out that this is from July 3, so that's maaaaany many revisions ago and I expect everything is running a lot smoother for the Hermes based stuff, since you're running it nice and smooth. Anywho, that's why I stuck with 249, mugotu recommended it (at the time) and I haven't found a need to change from it.
I do have to say that the performance on Hermes is also very good. The delays Mugotu mentions are only when loading ios, or reloading ios. It's not something done every second, or every few seconds. That's why you will hardly notice any performance difference just looking at that.

I'm currently doing cIOS r19b38 in the 249 slot and cIOS r20b56 in the 250 slot. Achieved it by using bluedump to save my r19 249 as a wad, running the r20 installer, and then re-installing the 249 wad. So far seems to be working, I only ran one game since then, though. If a coder wants to chime in that'd be awesome. :-) Course, this negates the benefits of launching DVD games using the effects of b56, but that's good enough for me.

Do you still prefer IOS38 as base for rev19 in Wiiflow?
Huh? That sounds like a difficult method. Specially since r20 allows you to select the installation slot. So just install r19 first, followed by r20.schroder08 said:petspeed said:Do you still prefer IOS38 as base for rev19 in Wiiflow?

Hehe, looks like it all depends what works best for you i guess.r-win said:I think my preferred base has been shifted to 56 for r20, and 57 for r19.petspeed said:Do you still prefer IOS38 as base for rev19 in Wiiflow?
I disagree. I think base 56 works for all the games that work with 38. In your case, you wouldn't have to switch to 250 if you had base 56 installed into 249.Etheboss said:Hehe, looks like it all depends what works best for you i guess.
but i have to say, i really only use 249 and 250 for games that dont start with 249.
No, if you want to use a different IOS for your games you have to set the IOS per game in WiiFlow.petspeed said:Thanks for all your replies.
As I understand from other threads here on GBATEMP r20b base 56 works fast and is compatible with most games so it is recommended. But Wiiflow works best with r19. So I thought about installing the following cIOS:
249 - r19 base 38 or 57
250 - r20b base 56
Is it possible to configure Wiiflow to use IOS249 for itself and use IOS250 as default for games? That way you would have the optimal cIOS for both Wiiflow and the games without changing IOS for all games.
Yes. You are right if it comes to coverflow.Etheboss said:@r-win, i'm not disagreeing with you, but the fact is that the Wiiflow coverflow runs smoother with cIOSx rev19, and i prefer that over the compatibility of cIOSx rev20b base 56 with games, and the games i have that need it are not that many.

I have tried to redownload the wiitdb but same issue still there
I know this won't be a solution if you want to keep the ? in ?kami, but I didn't want that since in mine it put it before the numbers, not under O alphabetically. You can create a custom_titles.ini file and tell it to use a different name, i.e. Okami. The information is in the Wiki, here. Again, I know it's a band aid and not a fix, but it is an option. Also, if you want to change the display titles of any of the other games you're on your way.

@petspeed: I think my preferred base has been shifted to 56 for r20, and 57 for r19.
Hello bakayaroo, this has to be fixed in the themes, i know it should be fixed in the starnight theme, so you can use that theme for sure if you want the name displayed correctly.schroder08 said:bakayaroo said:After download the wiitdb, the wiifow cant show the O in Okami in the select game screne, its only say kami.

I tested Sniper Elite out on my Wii the other day, and it worked... I'll check again in the morning or some such, and I'll get back to you. However, if it's what I recall, everything is normal settings, the r254-249 release, cIOS r19b38. Again, I'll test it out again later, when I get a chance. But there should be some hope, I have an NTSC Wii running the PAL release of the game.

I have my games on a wbfs usb drive but I keep my covers, music, etc on the SDcard. It was all working before but I have updated to the newer version of WiiFlow so I could use Wiinnertag.
