The GBAtemp Skin contest!!!

WE NEED YOUR SKIN!

The time for talk and debate is over, the time for action is here, welcome to the GBAtemp Skin contest.

The Contest:

Create a Skin for GBAtemp, we are looking for an overhaul, and we want you to kick this old skins ass. There are no limitations in terms of colors or looks, let your creativity and imagination shine through.

What we offer here is a chance for you to go down in GBAtemp history as the creator of the new forum skin. This contest is open to anyone who is a member/staff member of GBAtemp, and as long as you can follow the rules everything should be kosher.
Of course the new skin will be an alternative skin, the default skin will remain the same! The winner will be chosen by the staff *only*.

The rules:

- All entries must be in jpg/psd/png/pspimage pictures format which means you don't need any coding skill! Only graphic skills or inspiration and time! [please design *several* jpeg's, not just one, or it won't be enough to make a skin out of it!]
- We, the staff, reserve the right to not use anything created for this contest in the case that nothing great come out of it.
- No ripping, and no copyrighted characters or art.
- The GBAtemp Mascot must be included, but feel free to redesign it.
- The Main banner has to contain “GBAtemp.net” “The largest GBA + DS Community on the web”
- No porn, no flaming…
- Any spelling and grammar in the skin must be correct. We don't want a skin with "Teh largst GBA + DS Comunity on teh web."

The timeframe:

- The contest starts today, March 1st and will run through the month, at the end of the month, the contest will be closed and the staff will pick out the winner. Oops, we had almost forgotten: this skin is sponsored by EasyBuy again, the winner gets a free X-rom 512 !

I know this has nothing to do with the contest, but I think the design looks great the way it is. Though making a redesign as a contest is cool. How long has this skin been used? I havnt been here long..

How/where are the entries submitted? And can we run like a public poll too? That'd be cool if the public vote counted as a vote ya know?

I'm not sure about where to submit the entries, but as of right now, a public poll will only be put up if there is a tie and the public will decide the winner.

I thought it was clear enough: you submit JPG files!! so yes, use photoshop or whatever makes JPG files (except mspaint... it would suck) !

Seen as it is Photoshop we're using... would we be allowed the PSD for the banner? It would really help...Infact its a real pain in the ass ediing all of those gaps and shadows..

There should be an interchangle Skin option, that way everyone can choose a skin that comes from the contest

But the winner gets to be the defualt

Now, I think what parts needed for the skin might need to be more clear now, some poeple night think that buttons arent needed, but most likely they should be, so what are all the buttons and things that need to be skined? I know theres some I might not have noticed myself.

Also, some templates would be helpfull to make things more organized and alot less of a stress for those that arent already used to makeing furom skins.
Like a buncha PSD files with the right image sizes or Jpgs or whatever format.

Some admin/admin CP access person: Skins and Templates -> Skin Manager -> Click on GBATemp skin -> Edit Root Skin Replacement Macros -> Save as HTML and let us have it.

Is there a chance that more than one entry could win? I'd love having 2 GBAtemp skins, but 3 or 4 would be better.

Oh, and you guys can make it in HTML, take a bunch of screenshots of it, and paste them together into one big JPEG if you wanna be a sneaky bunch.
