BootMii Configuration Editor v2.5 has been released.

This update is available from the link below, or using the auto update functionality present within BootMii Configuration Editor v2.4. To update from v2.4 to v2.5 simply start the editor from the homebrew channel and the new version will be detected and downloaded should you choose to update.

Wiibrew Page

Changes in this release are:
  • Implementation Of BootMii Switch functionality. Can enable/disable BootMii through the editor by renaming the directory from /bootmii to /~bootmii and vice versa
  • If /bootmii and /~bootmii exist you are given the option to switch the directories allowing you to use an alternate MINI implementation such as MIKE or cboot2.
  • If bootmii.ini exists in both directories you are given the choice of which to edit.
  • The homebrew channel icon is swapped depending on the mode to give an indication of the bootmii status. A green circle indicates bootmii is enabled, a red circle indicates bootmii is disabled, and an orange circle indicates you are running in switch mode.
  • Several fixes to resolve various minor issues.

thank you. this is a great tool!

You're welcome - I hadn't updated this for ages and with the '0 boot delay' setting seemingly causing issues with the new bootmii beta - I thought I'd finally implement the BootMii Switch functionality into the editor. First rollout of a release since the auto update functionality was added - so it'll be interesting to see if this all works without problem.

QUOTE(lost_loven @ Aug 9 2010, 10:15 PM) how do you get ride of that switch mode?

lost

if you're in switch mode, it's because you have both a /bootmii and a /~bootmii directory in the root of your SD card, so it'll switch between the two should you choose to. So for example, you could have actual bootmii in /bootmii and MIKE-P5 in /~bootmii and if you want to use MIKE, just switch, so /bootmii is renamed to /~bootmii and the /~bootmii becomes /bootmii.

To get out of switch mode you'll need to delete one of the directories... I'll leave it to you to decide which. Then when you start the editor it'll realise there are no longer 2 directories and change back into the enabled/disabled mode.

I guess you can only install BootMii as an IOS? If so, this means you won't be able to do this.
If you want to boot automatically into the homebrew channel and you can't install BootMii in Boot2, then it will be worth considering priiloader.

Hi Pembo, first thanks for this application i use it for my bootmii needs
biggrin.gif

I am unable to get this to run off USB though, correct me if im wrong but it seems its not coded to look on usb for the settings files, only sd? I have not looked at the source yet to find out, but im curious if this is something you could add. I think with HBC now having USB 2.0, more users are using usb for there apps (Myself included) so it would be great if this were an option. Thanks!

@pembo: i use your app to switch between my real and sneek nand. its working perfectly and fast if you disable auto-update feature. would it however be possible to add a second swap function to your menu as following (marked in red):

A. swap
B. swap with cold reboot
1. edit bootmii
2. edit ~bootmii

now i always have to reboot manually to load the other nand after swapping. a swap with cold reboot would be a quick win :-)

Both good ideas.

I've been planning on implementing USB support after just doing it for Tetwiis so this won't take me long to do as I can copy the code in! It's not that it doesn't look for the settings files from where it's launched, just that it doesn't mount the USB for use...

The cold reboot - I should be able to do this as well.

I'll get these implemented for v2.6 which I'll try and get out pretty soon.
